  • Honestly as an experienced multi-generstional Mormon basher I legit forget that part of their fucked up theology. Kinda hard to keep that in frame when the practical shit they tend to do in the practical, what with the theocracy that is Utah, the rampant environmental abuse, the unearned self righteousness so many of them have, and the weird as fuck cultural infantalism that is so common amongst the Utah variant in particular it's just kinda hard to care about the hypothetical space slavery y'know? Though I will say the further you get from Utah the saner they become, for example for some reason a lot of the younger ones in my area both men and women like Fallout NV, don't know of Joshua Graham has anything to do with that but yeah.

  • Air-gapped and in some cases running on hardware that'd be outstripped by an Atari 800.

  • As another dude said it's dementia. It's a relatively common thing where as their sense of reality slips they basically start to claim absurd shit. It's sad when it happens to most people since it's generally a really bad sign of how far they've degraded, but with Trump eh fuckem.

  • Personally polygamy doesn't bug me. But the terminology is just eugh.

  • Honestly I say just abandon the damned thing at this point. Convert the Whitehouse to a museum, tear up whatever Trump put in and construct a new facility elsewhere. If a president or two gets hacked in the meantime eh who gives a fuck. Politicians are worth less than the average person, he's even an inbred cousin fucker since at least they probably do something more productive than most politicians on average.

  • Don't forget to factor in whatever rat fuckery he is doing to benefits and the VA. Frankly from the outside looking in on that one I'm pretty sure the cost benefit analysis is looking pretty fucken shit.

  • Starship Troopers is right there.

  • I met a talking toaster once, it was angry and wanted to burn the world down. Better than the seed processor though.

  • Im from California and have gone up and down the western US. The only place I would actively go out of my way to avoid is Utah.

  • Fair enough, like I said me finding out was just an X-ray tech pointing it out and saying it was kinda cool. So I have no clue where I fall within actual standards.

  • Because it helps to contextualize certain concepts and ideas for modern people? Like I'm pretty sure the Minoans, Egyptians, and Hallstatt didn't call themselves that yet we apply it to them regardless. Or as a more direct comparison it's rather easy to call the Confederates fascist since it broadly aligns with the political spectrum we now call fascism.

  • Yeah it's not too uncommon as I understand just not the norm. Though with me being so short it does give me the joke that evolution is trying to reinvent Neanderthals and I'm it's Alpha version.

  • Also doesn't help that the Roman province of Palestine was utterly saturated in Hellenic culture around the time that Jesus existed. I would not be surprised if certain Hellenic mystery cults like the Hermetics merged with Jewish traditions to create a lot of Jesus like individuals.

  • Sadly no. But I am five foot five, can go berserk, and like retro motorcycles. Though I think Wolverine is more of a Harley guy rather than a Honda and Enfield guy.

  • I got into a car crash and went to the ER to get an X-ray done to make sure nothing was off, not this was a week after the crash. Anyways hurt like a bitch and after awhile of waiting the X-ray gets done and the tech just kinda looks at it for a minute, turns to me and says "Two bits of good news, your knee is just inflamed and swollen no breaks, also Ive been doing this for awhile and your bone density is absurd" which is how I found out that I'm a freak of nature who has borderline unbreakable bones. Explains why I struggle to swim in fresh water so much.

  • I would rather ride my shitty 1984 Honda trail across the continental US than step on a plane. Mostly because I know the jackass who does repairs on my bike.

  • I'm honestly kinda surprised the image is that old. It looks like one of those weird shit post things that popped up in the immediate aftermath of COVID.

  • You have clearly not witnessed the depravity of the Sonic fandom.

    Echidnas have multi-headed dicks.

  • Yes though in this case I'm referring to the US political entities called states, IE California, Connecticut, Arkansas, Et Cetera. But yeah I do mean nationalized in effect, when I said take it private I mean the stocks get locked down and removed from the public stock exchange while leaving owned stocks somewhat unaffected. Mostly so things like employee stocks don't get effected, CEO or ex CEO stocks would be nullified.

  • I feel like that depends on the industry and context. For example if say most of a specific industry is based in one or two areas and gets devastated by a natural disaster then fine. But if it's just economic failure then they should be taken private with either the states or the feds getting controlling shares.
