  • Honestly this would be the expected effect if one understand what Reddit even is in the first place: an aggregator.

    The "correct" (or "more correct") thing to do would be to mirror reddit's links to the author's/creator's webpage / service in the post, so that the people who can respond to the creator can, and the people who want to just talk about the thing linked, also can.

    And, given that Reddit now restricts visiting without being logged in, the only "practical" way to even get some of the links there is for someone else to mirror them into the Fediverse anyway.

  • The main issue is DNSSEC - with it, negative answers are authoritative and signed, so they’d need to stop supporting DNSSEC altogether to restore the record.

    Makes sense to me. Technologies and laws have to be graded in terms of who they hit negatively. if DNSSEC can be used to censor and erase people on a toddler's whim, then it's perhaps best that it's removed, or that it's at least temporarily dropped for cases like this.

Via theft, exploitation and destruction, and oriented to the fulfillment of the elites and the oppression of the worker class.

    All that said, there are ways to use electricity without "exploitative resource extraction", for example with a potato.

    Use non-slopified alternatives. There are lists such as Open Slopware that document where to get alternatives.

    Or just fork the last non-slopified version and work from there. For already-mature software, should not make that much difference in the short term for a distro that seeks out stable long-term behaviour (things would be vastly different if this was Arch).

  • algorithms and processes are not copyrightable. Code is an expression of algorithms, and thus is copyrightable. If anything, that's the stance that the entire movements of Free Software and Open Source are going with to function, so this sounds not a good idea even if it is a good ideal.
