Doctors were "modern day clergy" at one point, so we're historians, biologists, scientists, astronomers and almost everything else.
And they can be again.
Or even better none of them can be.
Like, you understand that economies are real things that need managed, and those people should review what works and what doesn't.
The current economists recommending shit that clearly don't work, are a negative to society. If they were gone, there be no negative. But why the actual fuck would you stop there and instead train economists to focus on different metrics than a handful of capitalists high scores.
They could study and determine what would help the most people and ensure basic needs are met.
That's what economists could be doing, and it would be worth way more than paying them to do it costs.
Seems to be a super old breed, like I couldn't even find a guess at when they were established.
But they were just the generic goat for a big area where both goats were important, and established trade routes allowed a high degree of genetic variation at first. But then the adults that were allowed to reproduce were always the ones who produced the most milk and meat.
Absolutely zero care about how an adult looked, zero aesthetics. If that weird ass adult look wasn't tied to something that makes more milk and cheese, it wouldn't be that weird.
However the breeders know all things being equal, customers would pay more for a goat that didn't look like ass.
So when choosing which to breed, you pick the most aesthic looking goats hoping for a higher price for the offspring. But with those weird ass adult dreams (almost certainly) increasing milk/meat yield, and everyone wanting to buy the milk goat that looks least hideous...
Theres fewer and fewer, but some avenues of academics a person wouldnt be swayed left/right solely by their knowledge and subject matter expertise that makes them an academic.
Off the top of my head, only economists have a right wing slant. But that's because the wealthy bought off the neoliberals to deregulate everything, and everyone agreed that the only people who knew about the economy, were the ones who said Regeanomics was a step in the right direction.
Everyone else was just called wrong and haven't had a real chance to try on smaller scales that it works.
Mamdani is a great example of someone who just does the easy obvious thing, the difference is him and his administration are actually trying. Doing it in a city with the GDP of most countries, is huge because it's an obvious example of it working.
The low barrier to entry means a small amount of people just make new accounts all the time to ask obvious bait questions and some people on here actually fall for it routinely
Shares of Netflix closed down more than 35% Wednesday after the streamer reported earnings Tuesday evening that showed it lost subscribers for the first time in more than 10 years.
There was some dude who wanted to "promote sports" and he did that by making over 100 communities that all had individual mod bots who posted constantly
All that did was get everyone to block any sports posts because it blended in with spam.
Make a couple posts for big stuff, but if you don't get engagement, the answer isn't to increase quantity, it's to increase quality.
Like, post a thread for an important match, but expect most comments to be made after the game. And your sport has 20 games a week, posting 40 threads one for each team just dilutes it.
Maybe do a weekly recap thread or just post highlight videos to draw people in.
Bot posting is just going to end up as spam if no one engages, and everytime someone blocks it early for spam, that's a user that may have stuck around and contributed for years if it had a better start
I’ve tried “hot/new” and “all” just it seems to be a bunch of RSS feeds with no human context or interaction. With I’m doing something wrong or the communities I’ve joined aren’t active enough or both.
No, you're right...
To get content, you have to browse /new
To browse /new, you have to block all the idiots spamming reposts from other social media. Otherwise it drowns out all the stuff a human actually posted and cares about.
Fair warning, there's a shit ton of them. One person has like 20 accounts they rotate thru spam posting, and you're gonna feel like it's never ending. But eventually it's a pretty good experience.
Just block anything you don't like as you go. It's more about pruning then curating.
White supremacy is actually pretty big with people who are mixed race.
Because it means they're still better than all of one side of their family, and they believe if they ingrain themselves enough into the movement, they would rank higher than white people who aren't white supremacists.
Which they do, until the movement seizes power, then biracial white supremacists aren't even considered white anymore, let alone a white supremacist.
But over and over again, going back all thru recorded history and almost definitely before, we see that behavior.
Which honestly makes sense. You gotta remember we're running off tribal software and the whole skin color thing is just a lazy patch over.
Jumping tribes was a valid strategy for much of human history, but that tribe kicking out newer additions to make way for others for visual homogeneity to easily differentiate non tribes members, shouldn't be surprising either.
And to be clear, these racists pieces of shit are not putting that much thought into any of this, they're following instincts they don't understand and the first step to steering them away from this bullshit, is understanding why people won't stop falling for it.
The people steering them into it, absolutely understand what they're exploiting.
If you're routinely abusing prescription medication to self medicate, you need to tell your doctor ASAP so dosage can be adjusted properly, or switched to a more effective medication.
Because obviously if you double dose a prescription medication, that means you have to skip a dose later.
Like, adjusting dosage is a normal part of being on medication, you might just need a slightly higher dose because some tolerance built up, this is why they start with low dosages. Needing a slight increase is 100% normal.
But what you're doing is making the problem worse, it's not fixing anything.
That and "disruption" was just going into an existing market, flooding it quickly with cheap prices, and the second you squeeze out competition jack up rates.
It's the same thing Walmart did.
With AI they offer it cheaper than humans because they're burning investor cash and not making money. Once a company fires staff, their next AI contract switches to per token price instead of monthly unlimited.
And then suddenly realizing the "rockstars" that kept their job because they were AI experts, were just sitting at their laptop 8 hours straight constantly prompting over and over again. After that they're paying more than they were before AI with a shittier product and completely unpredictable workflow completely reliant on AI usage.
Hopefully we're reaching the point even c-suite execs figure it out. Once they do it'll pop.
Why?
Influencers are lying grifters who just want the ability to influence others. Right wingers oubly so.
Stop listening to them or people who believe them
