  • If you're talking about the accounts that just spam articles for a couple months and disappear...

There's a single person who's been doing it at least since the reddit migration 3 years ago, but I feel like it was already a thing before that.

I have no idea what the original ban was for, but all those accounts eventually get banned for being an alt of that account.

Afterwards they just make a dozen new accounts and keep doing it.

It's super weird, and I almost asked this morning actually when I saw a batch had been banned and new ones were already up.

But I know the person wouldn't answer.

    Edit:

That batch from 15 hours ago for reference

  • The staffer posted a picture of himself in KKK robes...

But says it's ok, because he didn't actually put them on, just intentionally made an AI image of himself in KKK robes...

Like, that somehow make it's worse, I think? And definitely doesn't somehow prove he's not actually in the KKK.

It's like he just heard "it's AI" as a defense, and just didn't understand at all what the point was....

  • If you're routinely abusing prescription medication to self medicate, you need to tell your doctor ASAP so dosage can be adjusted properly, or switched to a more effective medication.

Because obviously if you double dose a prescription medication, that means you have to skip a dose later.

Like, adjusting dosage is a normal part of being on medication, you might just need a slightly higher dose because some tolerance built up, this is why they start with low dosages. Needing a slight increase is 100% normal.

But what you're doing is making the problem worse, it's not fixing anything.

  • Felony depends on state.

Most are $1k, so is Florida.

And from this story I've learned that it only costs $800 for a Flock camera.

So in the vast amount of states, if you only break/take the camera, it shouldn't be a felony:

    https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/felony-theft-amount-by-state

Destroying property is usually about the same limits state by state.

Obviously you want to research specific state/local laws, you know, because knowing is the half the battle.

  • Techbros didn't even invent that shit.

That and "disruption" was just going into an existing market, flooding it quickly with cheap prices, and the second you squeeze out competition jack up rates.

It's the same thing Walmart did.

With AI they offer it cheaper than humans because they're burning investor cash and not making money. Once a company fires staff, their next AI contract switches to per token price instead of monthly unlimited.

And then suddenly realizing the "rockstars" that kept their job because they were AI experts, were just sitting at their laptop 8 hours straight constantly prompting over and over again. After that they're paying more than they were before AI with a shittier product and completely unpredictable workflow completely reliant on AI usage.

Hopefully we're reaching the point even c-suite execs figure it out. Once they do it'll pop.

  • Not sure about Malaysia, but in a lot of countries once you get tenure you can just start saying crazy shit, especially when it's completely unrelated to your area of expertise...

Dr Solehah, an Arabic language and linguistics scholar,

Especially with language, it's pretty easy to have a very very narrow range of education. Loads of people move to another country and then become "experts" on their native language.

  • Yeah, just like the Titanic being unsinkable proves what really sank it was the Nazis living in the center of the Earth with the tooth fairy...

  • Ultimately, the two candidates have similar policy views on data centers, as a piece in Vox laid out last week. Neither one has called for a moratorium on building them, as Hong did. Tiffany has called for rolling back a state subsidy on data centers, which Crowley hasn’t matched, but otherwise the candidates are aligned on the issue, calling for local control over construction and environmental standards to protect natural resources.

A governor kicking the can down the road for local governments isn't the end of the world, and still an improvement.

He'd get more votes supporting a state wide ban. But anyone advocating not to vote D because they have the same policy on a single issue as the R candidate is just ignoring literally every other policy...

  • Real hot take:

The CIA spread conspiracy theories that Bush did it, to discredit the truth: That Cheney knew specifically of the attack and what planes were to be targeted.

He intentionally sat on information that could have prevented it, not even telling the president. Because he knew it would justify a war and get lil Bush (and by extension himself) four more years.

And that would have been possible, because Cheney had restructured all the intelligence agencies to report directly to him, if he didn't pass something on to Bush personally, Bush never knew about it.

And the entire point of Bush being president, was to be the face and fall guy for Cheney.

  • and no one knew how debris could make building 7 also collapse so efficiently.

When building the world's tallest towers in one of the most densely populated areas on the planet...

Designing it to collapse straight down is a good idea.

from the “dancing israelis” scandal (Mossad agents posing as art students)

    I mean, that was real...

But more likely they were just celebrating upcoming war, and didn't know ahead of time. Worst case scenario Israel may have knew it was coming, I doubt the people watching were told, that's too risk for them to know ahead of time, just tell them "you'll know it when you see it".

and previous attempts to take the towers down,

Would be crazier if they got it on the first try...

the ease of which nearly completely in tact passports were conveniently found,

They tend to make passports and other important IDs pretty sturdy...

presence of thermite on the ground, supposedly testimony that the twin towers were built to withstand the very thing that took them down, the suspicious insurance purchases by the Twin Towers owner and some other company at the port.

I don't know about all that...

But you can't design a skyscraper today to withstand a passenger jet slamming into it bro...

It's a giant plane, it's gonna fuck up a building. The absolute best case scenario, is designing it to fall straight down, instead of starting a game of dominos and taking down every skyscraper.

  • Reportedly, the app uses an on-device machine learning model to classify the content.

Using your shiny new phone to train AI...

For now its only supposed to check Google Messages, so not if you use a different text app.

But one vulnerability already is side loaded versions with super high version numbers so they won't be auto updated. Those will scan everything and do whatever with it. Considering the apps point is to scan for nudes, likely sending all your nudes to the hacker.

  • It doesn't matter where you preach, it matters what you preach....

And he has decades of sermons and podcasts online for anyone to check what his positions have been.

I know next to nothing about him, but from what I've seen politicians like him are going to be instrumental in passing a progressive platform thru Congress.

We need those seats, we need any seat that we can fill with someone who supports progressive policy.

  • The Tyson beef plant that just got shutdown in the Midwest is going to fuck Republicans...

Not because of the 2-3k workers, not because of the increased price consumers pay.

But all the livestock owners who suddenly have nowhere near to slaughter cattle at scale are fucked. Couple that with flooding the market with Argentinian beef, and a lot of Republican voters are going to stay home for midterms.

They might not admit to themselves they want Republicans to lose majorities, and they'll likely spend the next two years bitching about Dems. But a lot of them just won't find the time to vote when they're getting fucked this blatantly

  • He is closer to them, but he is not them and if he was he wouldn’t have any chance at all more than likely.

What are you even rambling about?

  • This guy is closer to Bernie and AOC than a lot of politicians from blue states...

  • It absolutely does not, and by the rules posting with an image will get removed...

You can't do a simple text post.

Because you're supposed to link the actual article, where you're linking the picture.

  • Literally what they accuse Muslims of...

His focus now is on growing his movement through "preaching the gospel, planting churches, starting classical Christian schools" to gradually turn the U.S. into a Christian theocracy over the course of several generations, despite the Constitution prohibiting the government from establishing an official religion.

Under that vision, Wilson told NPR that non-Christians wouldn't hold public office. Asked whether non-Christians would be allowed to vote, Wilson said, "Yes, probably," adding that there would be restrictions on public spaces for non-Christian activities.

"So probably the best illustration of this would be church bells? Yes. Minarets? No," he said.

    Why?

"Because, the public space would belong to Christ," he added.

  • Why do people keep posting images?

Like, I know the link is in the description, but it's such a weird yet common choice

  • That's the entire point...
