  • Imagine bribing politicians to get tax breaks as those same politicians start to take more of a cut than the other side would have taxed you. I'm starting to think everyone that is rich and powerful are also incredibly stupid.

  • I used to say this as a joke in middle-school all the time.

  • "Slavery wasn't all bad."

-The people that benefited from slavery.

  • Just downloaded it. Thanks my guy.

  • "I'm a conservative. I decided that owning the libs was more important than my sons life even when they were telling me this would happen on a daily basis."

I feel bad for her son, though. He might lose his chance at life because his parents decided that it was more important to police where trans people can take a piss.

  • Already got it downloaded. It's only like 100 - 150 gigabytes or something like that. Got it on my PC, my laptop, and my external hard drive. I don't trust the powers that be to keep it intact anymore so I'd rather have my own copy, even if outdated.

  • I like how every company is pushing to replace programmers with AI yet it can't even do the job of a receptionist.

  • Take a step back from the fascism, human rights violations, kidnappings, and concentration camps and just think about the fact that these people are in charge of the government. Regardless of politics, these people are just objectively stupid and have virtually no understanding of anything outside of knowing how to give speeches and spread propaganda.

I know things are bad and will continue to get worse before they get better, but I do take some solace in the fact that these people are so incredibly stupid that they will never be able to run a productive or efficient government. It's like watching as your boss makes his son a manager and seeing everything go to shit around him.

  • Sounds to me like those fossil fuel companies are using those new subsidies from the Trump regime to bribe other companies into switching. And since most tech companies only think of short term profit they're totally down to go with the option that gives them a discount. Tech companies get cheaper energy while the fossil fuel companies get to make more companies dependent on their product for longer. In the short term, these tech companies will make truckloads of money. But in the long term, not updating the infrastructure to the modern age and actually going backward will only doom them, especially on the global market.

  • All he has to do is say that Texas is doing it in retaliation to California and his base will eat it up. It's not like they fact check or look at any left leaning news. It seems stupid from our perspective, but to those that follow him it's preaching to the choir.

  • The reason he says this kinda shit is for the base because they don't read news from "left" sources. So to the people that only watch Fox news and the like they will only see what California is doing but not Texas (or think that Texas is doing it in response to California). They basically take the left's talking points as pointers and twist it into their own because they know republican voters will never fact check them and take everything at face value with no further thought.

  • I got a few things that have helped me figure things out.

    1. Nobody has this shit figured out. We're all just kids with jobs and responsibilities now.
    2. The only people that care about how manly another man is are other men that wanna feel superior to you. It's okay to want to feel manly if that's what you want, but don't do it for someone that probably didn't like you to begin with. Why work so hard to earn the approval of someone you don't like?
    3. Men are just as emotional as women and the sooner you realize that the sooner you can start dealing with your emotions in a healthy way.
    4. Don't try and find people that fit the very specific definition of "friend" that you have in your head. Every friendship and relationship is unique and should be appreciated for what it is instead of what it isn't.
    5. Failure doesn't mean that you are a failure. Try and figure out why you failed instead of focusing on the fact that you did fail. You learn a lot more about yourself from your failures than your success.
  • I hate both of them as much as the next guy, but that's the funniest shit I've read all day.

  • You know you do that have to watch the stuff he's in, right? If you're sick of him then stop paying attention to him and letting him live in your head. And as for the anxiety thing, kind of a dick move to just assume someone's a creep just because physical touch helps with their anxiety. As someone that had anxiety, I may not relate one-to-one but I definitely get it.

  • It's because it's never had anything to do with sexuality or gender and everything to do with hating things that you don't understand and people using that hate to incite fear. First it was freeing slaves, then it was women and their rights, then it was black people and their rights, then it was interracial marriage, then it was gay marriage, and now it's trans rights. Some of these groups have been fighting for their rights for generations and still have to fight for them on a daily basis. And once these people get rid of one they will go after the others and it's exactly why we need to defend everyone when their rights are in danger. Sure, you may not care about body autonomy and transgender rights, but it's only a matter of time before they decide what you are is "wrong" and will come for you.

  • When you can't trust the numbers you can't make educated guesses about where the market is headed. When the economy and market has to run on vibes instead of data it can only end badly. The stock market was already pretty much gambling but now it's a casino where the house always wins and they refuse to tell you the odds. I'd trust my money on a roulette table over the stock market in a heartbeat these days. At least I wouldn't have to worry about unexpected tariffs every time the wheel spins.

  • Just saying, even among republican voters, nobody really cares about same sex marriage anymore in the US. Yes, there are definitely still people that are against this, but the majority are just cranky old people. As someone that grew up in the 2000's in a red and rural area, nobody really cares except for the old people and the aggressively religious. I used to work at a dive bar in the middle of nowhere and one of my coworkers was openly gay and nobody gave a shit. If anything, that man got tipped higher than a lot of the female servers most nights.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that no matter how bigoted and awful republican voters seem online, I'm pretty sure the majority do not even consider this a problem. I'm not saying this should absolve them of fucking over the country with their votes, just that this might be something that will piss them off too. Most of the republican voters in my home town aren't even religious. They built one of those giant churches in the middle of town awhile back and every time I visit my parents that place is basically abandoned.

But what can I say, I absolutely love it when they piss of their own base as they try to appeal to the extreme. Every day they lose more and eventually they won't have anyone left. Probably won't happen for a few decades when I myself am an old man, but hey, I gotta at least try to be optimistic.

  • I hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but I think that's the point. If I remember correctly it was tobacco companies that were behind the scenes lobbying for the ban on flavored vapes. This is mostly hearsay that I've heard online, but my understanding was that they were doing this because they were losing sales to the companies coming up that were making vape products and were upset they were losing the monopoly.

I'm talking out of my ass right now, but I'll try and find some stuff online to see if it's true.

Edit: After about 20 minutes of looking stuff up I couldn't find anything. Maybe it was just the vape shop workers around me that were saying it, who knows. If anyone else finds anything I'd love to know.
