A #ttrpg nerd and a #rodent lover.

Pfp is my #chinchilla, Muffin, begging to be let out for floor time so she can eat my baseboards. Banner picture is of my two #cavy boars, Oreo (right) and Coffecake (left), who are claiming that I have never fed them once and will soon starve to death, despite the full food bowl behind them.

  • @11111one11111I mean, there's a reason I didnt lead with that lmao. I know it's demented but I don't think it's completely insane. I mean, George Lucas had a similar experience that gave him the idea of starting the Original Trilogy at Episode 4

  • @jewbacca117

Long story. When I was a kid, I found a cool semi-epistolary 8-book series at my school library about a modern-day kid named Pendragon hopping through a portal to save alternate timelines. It was so cool to me that the series jumped around in time so we had to figure out when we were in Pendragon's timeline. Turns out my school shelved them in alphabetical order, and they also lacked the first and last books. I had a blast & I've been trying to recreate that experience ever since.

  • @jewbacca117Can't argue with that. But usually when I'm interested in a series I watch the episodes of each season in a random order, and I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to accidentally start with the shit parts.

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

When should I stop watching the Mandalorian?

  • @Rivalarrival

Well, the thing she definitely (but not proveably) stole is basically something like a mix between the Millenium Puzzle, the Lament Configuration, and the Behelit. Very very bad news to have stolen, and under normal circumstances the only person to have a motive to steal it would be the next dark lord.

  • @pteryx @leaveitblankI don't think so. We're going to see normal malice from government employees. For example, the macguffin she stole was being displayed in a museum as bait for Baby Voldemort, who happens to be her best friend. Normally the dark lordling isn't a team player and would just charge in and grab it, so there was a security team to nab anyone who tried to steal it and then Get Rid Of Them. Obviously detaining people for pre-crime is not legal, so this was a secret operation.

  • @ZigguratHuh. I never considered that. I think i need to rework her backstory a bit, since I wrote that she'd already been to juvie once in 2nd grade when she turned the school bully into a speedbump. If there's a minimum age for criminal liability, what would happen to that murder charge?

  • @leaveitblankFantasy setting, gonna be inspired by America because that's what I know. Main change is that lawyers are, by nature of the magic system, always wizards. The actual story takes place in magic school, and this isn't the main character so the trial isn't going to be given much attention.

  • For context, the macguffin in question is something like a cross between the Millenium Puzzle and the Lament Configuration. It takes a powerful mind and will to solve it, and the sort of people who are drawn to it will do great things—terrible, yes, but great. It's reasonable to assume this 10-year-old middle-class white girl stole it because she's going to grow up to be the next Voldemort, so I think its reasonable for the judge to throw the book at her.

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

How long could a kid be sent to juvie for trespassing on museum property i proximity to a robbery?

  • @TehBamskiI like that i can interact from Mastodon

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

How do you guys find new books?

  • @IsoSpandy @SupraMarioMinor correction: the word for this is paramagnetic. Paramagnetism happens when a molecule has unpaired electrons, whereas diamagnetism happens when a molecule has no unpaired electrons. You're pretty much entirely right, though

  • @JezebelleyWhy would I do that? I can't leave comments on Lemmy posts and Peertube videos from there!

I think people just are fed up with Twitter and are looking for the most twitter-like thing they can find. Mastodon is, frankly, nothing like Twitter. The vibes are too different.

  • @Crafter72I watched a good chunk of it when it was first coming out, but I had to drop it because i was frankly not in a good enough place to hear the things that show was trying to say.

  • @Sanctus

Fuck i forgot about Gurren Lagan. What am I doing with my life

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

Are there any animes or TV shows you can't stop recommending?

  • Fediverse @lemmy.world

Why are all the #peertube instances defederated from each other?
