  • I'm part of the Caucasian Caucus (reference). I wanted to hear from our fellow Fedi users who were black, and hear how things have been for them here. I was going to make a follow up question, to ask them how we could make the Fediverse a more safe and welcoming place for them. It was all with good intent from me. Just wanting to make the world a better place, in any way I can.

    Not everyone on here is going to agree with me, but I'm getting tired of seeing so many communities become the same thing. Just a 'dump it there,' community. (That's what !justpost@lemmy.world is good for BTW.) This 'meme' community, !funny@sh.itjust.works and !microblogmemes@lemmy.world are all starting to look about the same in content. I don't always want to read Microblog memes and sometimes I don't want to read standard memes.

  • What is a band or musician that you found out too late that they were actually really awesome?

  • Alright. So I'm going through these now.

    HIM - I tried to find a song from HIM this time while suppressing my premonitions, but I just couldn't. There are just so many songs about love, partners, etc. and that doesn't apply to me right now.

    The Crown - I can see myself getting into them the rest of the year, for sure. I enjoyed Gone to Hell and Death Explosion from them (so far.)

    The Haunted - I liked All Against All. I'll be checking out there stuff a bit more, but later.

    Dimmu Borgir - I already knew about them. They are a 'nasty' band. Hahaha. Puritania is by far my favorite song from them.

    Metallica and CKY I've heard and like some of their songs. Metallica more so.

    Foreign Objects - I'm digging their Galactic Prey album. For sure gonna come back to this one.

    Meshuggah - They have a cool sound, but I just can't find myself liking their songs.

    Mattias “I.A.” Eklundh - Minor Swing through me for a loop haha. I like that one. Same with New Air.

    Opeth - IDK... I think it's a bit too moody for my liking.

    Finntroll - It's alright to me. Wish I could understand their lyrics ha.

    Children of Bodom - That's my shit! 👍 I seem to like Melodic Death Metal music quite a bit. Power Metal is fun too.

    Sonata Arctica - I could see myself enjoying some of their music. But I think I'm currently in a 'heavy hitting' phase musically. Symphonic metal is pretty cool. My introduction to it was Nightwish's Wishmaster album.

    Animals as Leaders - I had a few friends years ago that were really into them. I think they have some interesting sounds, but sometimes, math metal can be too much for me.

    Lamb of God - I've definitely heard of them and heard a few of their songs. Yeah IDK man. For whatever reason, I can't find a song that I like enough to add to my Spotify. I might come back to them later for a deeper dive.

    Tesseract - Not feeling it.

    Textures - Not feeling it.

    The Ocean - I liked Holocene.

    The Omnific - Turns out, I liked their Objects de Vertu song some time ago. I liked Outback Overdrive. They feel like a band I would enjoy diving deeper into.

    Dissection - Pretty good.

    Amon Amarth - Of course, I've heard of them and like their song Twilight Of The Thunder God hahaha. I've been meaning to come back to them and hear more of their stuff. Liked Shield Wall.

    Linkin Park - Really dude?! LOL! I wasn't born yesterday! I like their stuff. Mostly their earlier stuff as well.

    And now I feel like Frodo.

    (Now I'm gonna music suggest wall you bro! Sheesh. Haha)

    Venjent… what if I told you I was like one of the top 0.01 % listeners of Venjent in 2025, I think.

    My goodness dude! Hahaha That's is some serious dedication! =p

    Equilibrium is one of favorite folk metal bands to date. Sunlounger is growing to become my go to artist, when I need to chill out. Venjent is a really interesting artist. I love his ability to utilize sounds from anything and apply them into a music format.

    As for your list, HOLY SHIITAKE! You seem to have the metal music corner of music well covered. lol I've heard 12 of those listed and know I like, Dimmu Borgir, Metallica, CKY, Children of Bodom, Amon Amarth and (of course) Linkin Park. I'll check out the rest over the next several days.

    Bro there are so many good bands, I have about 1700+ bands that I follow on Spotify. (Quite overwhelming at times, actually.)

    ROFL! I can totally understand the overwhelming sense you would get. This is why I only follow a 30 or so bands on Spotify.

  • This depends on what sect of Christianity you believe in. If you're one that believes that everything is already predetermined, than yeah, this Jesus character would have seen everything to come, in regards of sin. If you don't believe in a predetermined life, than you would have probably carried a huge burden of guilt for something that you never knew was true or not. But the people around you kept on speaking as if it was true, even though they wouldn't or couldn't provide solid evidence of such a thing happening.

    Anyway... Do your best to be a good person, treat people how you would want to be treated, and don't hold religion to be, the end all be all of life, as we know it. No one can fully prove or disprove the existence or absence of a deity or deities.
