  • Well there are games where I absolutely cannot justify paying for unless there is a sale or waiting for it to go on discount due to being super old.

    However I still don't pirate them just because they are priced too high if they are steam because I know eventually I will still have easy access I just need to be patient.

    Cae in point this summer sale a game that came out 2-3 years ago I finally bought because it was 50% off its original $100 price tag (CAD). Finally felt it would be worth it.

    Never pirates it became I knew steam would provide easy access and an eventual sale.

  • I mean, I'm all for replacing physical items as it reduces physical plastic waste.

    But it does put the onus on consumers to pay for the storage rather than the manufacturer and prices for digital are not any lower than physical so all it does is save the manufacturer money, not the consumer. If it resulted in a 10% decrease in game prices that would help.

    The other issue however is that manufacturers do not guarantee a download will be available forever. If that were guaranteed there wouldn't be an issue, as digital games often need to be re-installed if a bug or error occurs.

  • I wouldn't mind social media if it didn't allow the uploading of photos/videos/images etc. text only and chat functions. That way you can still have group chat, pages to organize events, etc.

  • Just don't overthink it. Grab some seeds and a bag of whatever soil fits your budget and get something growing.

    Gets something growing and then branch off from there. Introduce fertilizer if you think you need it. We don't bother. Soil longevity? You running a science experiment? Plant stuff. If you start to have issues, look up how to fix it then.

    You won't get the perfect 20 year garden right off the bat. Experiment, fail, learn, adapt.

  • I hire for our company and a cover letter is definitely helpful in choosing who to interview since a resume doesn't always give a lot of useful information that helps us.

    I don't care about your intentions for working, of course it's money or experience or whatever.

    But things like hobbies, travel experiences, location and relocation opportunities, etc all have a factor on if I choose to interview them and often a lot of that doesn't get included in resumes.

  • Not saying just use bread. Use any common item that is a staple. Rice, gallons of gas, etc. you can even do a mix, feel free to experiment. But using dollar value I think isnt very effective.

  • I think people trying to convince others need to start comparing it to time vs items, not simple $ value.

    Older people voting see $7.25/hour and still think that's good because it's X% more than what it was when they were young.

    Instead market it as "The minimum wage should be at least three loaves of bread per hour, up from two loaves of bread."

    In 1960 the minimum wage was about 4 loaves of bread. At the moment in Oklahoma it's 2 loaves of bread.

    Sure maybe it shows that he was told earlier what it means but it by no means proves or is evidence that he knew what it was when he got the tattoo, just that it was a standard thing that many Marines got.

    I also had an online handle for years which has the number 88 in it way before I found out that it was a hidden dog whistle for Nazi's. I guess I was a Nazi when I was 8 years old.

    If they pay an AI company $150,000 a month to replace $50,000 in salaries, the government then loses all that income tax from the previous employees as well as the payroll tax on $600k a year.
