  • But AI could totally tell you the top rated lawn mowers in stock in your area based on fake bought and paid for reviews to optimize your efficiency at mowing your lawn and increasing the capitalist profit margins of local stores that pay Google for increased foot traffic to their stores.

  • I wonder at what point government will tax AI use by companies similarly to payroll taxes and incomes taxes.

If they pay an AI company $150,000 a month to replace $50,000 in salaries, the government then loses all that income tax from the previous employees as well as the payroll tax on $600k a year.

  • At least with human labour companies have control. They withhold raises and bat down wages and the people tend to have to take it.

With AI you get suckered in and all of a sudden have a subscription or something similar. Then next year the costs go up. You've already tailored your workflow to use AI, you can't just not pay the higher bill. Next year, costs go up again. What are you going to do? Not pay your bill and lose your entire workforce all at once? Now the company is being held hostage by the AI companies.

  • I don't know of a way to clean/maintain a drain field.

From what I understand the tank captures the solids and the liquids rise to the top after everything settles and goes through a series of small tubes to drain into a field and be filtered through the soil.

Then the tanks gets cleaned every 2-3 years to remove the built up solids.

Usually the series of tubes in the deain field are all underground and inaccessible so I don't think there is a way to clean or maintain them.

When we had our house inspected the plumber couldn't even locate the drain field. Just told us it switched in this part of the yard or that part of the yard.

  • That seems like a giant waste of battery/fuel.

  • Why? Is it creating construction jobs? Doubt the entire salaries of everyone building it will total anywhere near that amount.

Jobs after? What, like a dozen security guards and a couple IT people? Those things practically run themselves from what I understand.

Just pay that money directly to the construction workers and scrap the data centre.

  • I wonder if it would be suitable to adjust people's grades each year on their final exam.

For example instead of having assignments worth 25%, attendance 10%, quizzes 20%, midterm 20%, and final 25%

Have it as assignments 75% and attendance as 25%

Then adjust all of that for by midterm and finals

Get 100% on your assignments due to chatgpt and show up to class every time despite not paying attention, if you get 50% on your quizzes, midterm, and final you get 50% overall, not 67.5%

  • If only AI data centres had to pay $5 a gallon for gasoline to power their equipment and we could use free clean water to power our vehicles.

  • Republicans are like the person who spends too much money on Cheap Chinese crap that they don't need because it feels like they are getting a bunch of material stuff but it never lasts and they need to constantly buy more to replace it.

Democrats seem more like the people who spend a bunch of money on fewer but quality goods that you can rely on and don't need to replace as often, because it also improves the quality of your experience and reliability in the future.

Both end up spending the same in the long run but one has a more reliable and higher quality household.

  • Well he has been able to do a shit ton without out congressional approval that he wasn't supposed to, no wonder he thinks he get do it without Venezuela's consent as well.

  • Well, yes it wouldn't heat it a "little bit" at the source but once added back into the system the average increase would probably be a "little bit".

  • I just bought a house which has a pump and water line for garden hoses and irrigation

I have no idea where the water is coming from

The house has a well, but the irrigation system is completely separate and has a pipe running somewhere that I have no idea about.

  • Honestly question though ....

Does a data centre actually pollute or dirty the water when used to cool it's stuff?

Could it not just take the water, run it through the system, heat the water a little bit to cool the stuff it needs, then run the water back into the city lines which might even save people a few cents on the water heating bills?

  • My god that photo is hilarious 😂

  • I agree, even if Biden was 20 years younger I think he would have won. If he was 20 years younger and female and Indian he would have lost just as Harris did.

It was definitely policy that hindered them, but also the sexism and racism.

  • Since you mentioned the name, I did notice quite obviously the disrespect everyone had toward Kamala Harris in the news and online comments simply due what they called her.

Almost everywhere, it was quite common for people to refer to her as Kamala and not Harris.

I suspect it was either due to her being a woman, or due to her being Indian (Kamala sounds a lot more foreign than Harris).

It was always "Kamala vs Trump" never Harris vs Trump or Kamala vs Donald.

  • That would go poorly if he tends to operate on riskier patients. Would definitely have to compare with other surgeons that have a similar patient risk.

  • I'm like one of the youngest millenials... Still a long way to go thank you very much!

  • Unfortunately it's unlikely a court will fine them based on a single person generating thousands of images. And it's also unlikely they will fine them based on many people generating a few each, as it would be a slow and arduous process. I just can't see it happening in reality.
