I don't read DMs.

  • We had a shaker of cinnamon and sugar mixed. It was an old jar with a metal lid that my dad punched holes in.

I don't eat sugar, or margarine, or bread anymore, but I still remember how good it was.

  • I'm four years older than you. I got better lunches than you, but not too much better. Margarine was supposed to be better than butter, so that's what we got, too. Coffee was thought to be bad, so my mom switched to Postum. She worried that I was eating too many eggs when I learned to make them myself. My mom somewhat tried to be good about food for us. We didn't get the sugary cereals, we got corn flakes, and rice crispies, but we put sugar on the cereal anyway, and she didn't stop us. She didn't keep soda, candy, or other snacks in the house as a rule, that was just for "special occasions", etc.

What we had was playing outside.

I gave up sugar completely about eight years ago, it was the single best health choice I made.

  • Oh, then I'd flip-off the camera, and lick the door handles.

  • Nah. Everything in the background is perfect, including the sign and pile of wood debris.

Not AI, if that's what you were implying.

  • The voters need to understand they aren't doing this to "protect children". They're afraid to vote against it because they'll look like they don't want to protect children. We need to let them know we see through the ruse, and we won't punish them at the polls for voting against this shit, but we will for passing it.

  • Nothing new, and yet we still do need to talk about it.

  • I'd say, "parents need to..."

But, parents are at least as addicted as their kids.

  • No one is suggesting that the "baby can't have the bottle".

  • They don't do all equally well, and none are done above average.

  • I try not to, I never have intentionally, outside of running deepseek locally a couple of years ago, just to see what it was about.

I use DuckDuckGo no AI, and try to avoid it in websites when it shows up.

My answer would be "never", but I know that's not completely accurate.

  • At least the voters aren't monsters.

  • I admire a lot about the French. As a non-French person, though, I'd never visit France. I've only met one Frenchman, he seemed alright. But, we weren't in France.

  • Fuck Washington Post, fuck Jeff Bezos, and fuck Amazon. I laughed when Bezos' rocket blew up.

I haven't bought a thing from Amazon in over ten years, now.

  • I installed my Genie myself almost 30 years ago, so no messing around with apps, etc. Don't they sell basic openers with simple remote buttons anymore?

I don't want workers in my garage when I am not there, so I don't need that. Why does a garage door opener need wifi access? Sounds like a bunch of "features" no one needs, or at least I don't need them because I've never had them, and I can't imagine what more I'd want a garage door opener to do, but open the door when I pull up and push the button.

  • We need term limits in Congress.

  • Yeah, yeah, she shouldn't have done it. But, it was wrong to fire her over it. I agree with the union rep, a warning would have been enough.

  • The power tools are faulty, and they're being forced to use them. You're assuming the people using the AI have the power to reject what the AI says. I'm not sure that's true.

  • He's up for re-election in November. South Carolina needs to do the world a solid and send this asshole packing.

  • They didn't lose it, they threw it away. They know where it is, they just don't want it.
