  • Seriously? Because I asked if something really surprising is true, in a world where insane things happens all the time? Before the current US administration I would have not felt the need to ask at all. Now fact checking it is the default mode of operation. Absurd things happen almost everyday now.

    I am also tired as hell, due to very little sleep on a daily basis as a result of just being a father.

  • Can confirm, am running a lot of services on a VPS that make my life more convenient. I prompt from my phone and get useful stuff out. I am a software engineer, so I can course correct ir when necessary. I only use opencode for this, not Hermes or Openclaw

  • The whole issue with sick leave is a bit frustrating.

    Is the sick leave increasing because people are more sick? Probably not.

    Is it increasing because people are considering sick leave as something that is akin to a vacation? Probably not.

    Is it increasing because people are more comfortable taking a sick leave when they are sick? Seems like the best explanation to me.

    So what's the actual solution? Is it to treat sick leave as a privilege that can be taken away, or should it be considered as something that's good for society and is proof of society actually taking care of their people?

    There would of course be some abuse of the system, but I don't think that warrants any sort of tightening of the rights of workers. Is it fair that all workers is punished because of a few people abusing it? I don't think so.

    It's the same thing about disability. And when people are getting disability benefits, people can say, "oh, there are so many people that are abusing it". I think that has to be the case thst some do, but it has to be something that we accept, because there is a lot of people that actually need it. Should they be punished because of a few rotten eggs? Should they live terrible lives because of a few people? Of course not. It's just a cost we have to accept in a good society that takes care of people.

  • I am one of the people previously complaining about it. I decided to rethink it and changed my mind. It is not a big enough deal to avoid the service. I tried it for a couple of months, and was satisfied with the results.

    I really liked filtering results and boosting them.

    In the end I deciding it was not good enough to justify the price, so I ended up with Qwant as my daily driver going forward.
