  • I did not find any evidence anywhere that he was drunk or intoxicated.

    It seems he was driving on the wrong side of the road because he's used to driving on the other side, because he's from America and he was in Northern Ireland.

    The last part I'm not entirely sure about. But I did not find any evidence of him being drunk or intoxicated in any way.

  • Of course they can, and they will. They are over 1 billion people. They are advanced, in many areas on the cutting edge. They are the manufacturing hub of the world and this is an important strategic asset.

    Considering how important chips manufacturing has become, they simply cannot accept relying on the west for this. Anything else would be a huge liability in case of a war.

  • They have pretty much lost already. The US will probably try to fight in some way, but they have a very little moat. Even if they actually "stole", it's not as if that Anthropic had the moral high ground here.

    Some chinese models like GLM 5.2, Kimi K2.7 Mimo V2.5, Deepseek V4 Pro and Minimax 3 cost close to nothing and have wild usage limits if you subscribe.

    You can also run these Chinese models on European infrastructure through Cortecs.ai or similar. And you have actually have privacy! Privacy + Cheap vs Expensive and slightly better.

    Opus 4.6 is almost 5€ in and 24€ out. Sonnet 4.6 is 3€ in and 15€ out. Minimax 3 is 0,3€ in and 1,7€ out.

    All frontier models are so good that the differenciator going forward is going to be price. The models keep improving, but there is a clear trend of diminishing returns.

  • I tried showing my friends how Gemini is pretty balanced and not as sycophantic as the rest. After 5 queries they seemed quite surprised of how balanced and nok sycophantic it was.

    At the sixth request is said: "based on your instructions, I should not simply agree with you."

    Turns out I had a pretty substancial set of instructions to make it useful and had forgotten about it 😂 Explains why I have preferred Gemini for a long time.

  • How is it biased? Biased towards truth? If you have proof of it lying or misrepresenting something, then you just have to prove it and I am sure they or you will be able to change it.

  • I have a PC that has been crashing a lot recently, but only when running long RAM+CPU and RAM+GPU intensive tasks. It uses about 60%+ of ny RAM.

    I ran a memory test for 9 passes, no errors. No errors with the CPU only, and no errors with GPU only.

    So it can be the XMP that crashes it?

  • It is two clicks, pretty much instant. The email flow is more work. Testing lots of services fast is a lot easier without email

  • I agree. I don't think we have to push people into using some truly revolutionary tech. Then it would not be revolutionary.

    The thing that frustrates me most about AI is that the companies that use AI in their software have ZERO creativity. A lot of applications and operating systems could have had AI in a lot of very narrow usecases. Everything from suggesting which command you should complete in the terminal, to where you should put your file for good organization.

    I do know that AI is becoming synonymous with LLMs, and ML would be better for many usecases. The difference is that using LLMs is super easy for it, even if not as good.

    Instead, we have this ridiculous thing in which we're supposed to remove the human part. That goes for art, music, and writing text. I think it's quite disrespectful to send messages to family, friends and colleagues that are written by AI, with few exceptions.

  • I like this. I want to be able to quickly test the product and if I like it, I make an account afterwards with my email. So I've recently been trying a lot of API services for various things and being able to test it quickly and then just delete my account. I see that as a win. Should have email also

  • While this might seem like a win, I am not sure if I want an AI free browser. This might be an unpopular take, but there are a lot of applications where AI is actually useful. And I'm unsure if hand waving it entirely away is an actually good thing. And if they ever include some minor AI thing, people will call this lbacktracking. Maybe not a good idea?
