  • yeah, the fact you have to do this though is one of the major flaws of this place.

you should be able to subscribe to stuff you like, but there isn't enough content to go that route, and most of the prolific content is all weird stuff you want to block...

  • get ready to be harassed by weirdos and nutcases who think their fringe opinions are the Absolute Truth.

people here are often really dumb but are convinced they are super geniuses, because they use Linux or pirate or are communists/anarchists, etc, even more so than on reddit.

you will have a better time when you start blocking lots of people who have these attitudes and the instances where they originate from, like lemmy.ml.

  • I've never been radicalized by a book, or anything really.

Probably because I've never believed it to be The Truth.

Most books I've read that people are taking about here, my reaction was like 'well duh'. Like, I knew my teachers were lying to me since kindergarten and their thought their over simplified view of the world was very weird.

  • sexism.

  • because people want to buy it.

I love it. I love being able to re-play these old games.

you realize you are only one person right? and millions of other people disagree with you, at least judging from sales numbers on these.

nobody is forcing you to buy or play this game, for sure. plenty of new games are also being made, you can go buy the new kirby they just announced today. i'm not sure why you think nintendo should only make the zelda game you specifically want to play, that's a bit nutty isn't it?

  • I see, so you just irrational hate on things to hate on them. got it.

  • keep telling yourself that.

  • yes, but all those feature are in 25K cars.

It's just that people don't buy those cars, they would rather financially ruin themselves buy 2x the car for the 'image' of it. Just like how many people by unreliable, bad MPG, shitty cars, but whine about the cost... because well they 'have to have a Jeep'. So now they have a 50K car that is going to need $1000s in repairs just to keep it running after a year or two.

And 99% of people who own Jeeps never offorad them, they'd be better off with a Civic or Corolla, but they can't get over themselves, they'd rather whine about being poor and broke while paying 4x the cost for a car that they need to.

  • oh who is forcing people to have children? exactly?

  • chaos is beautiful.

  • I didn't assume, I asked.

are you sure I'm the one with the IQ issue if you think a question is an assumption.

  • yep, bingo. people who say this have a massive superiority complexes and basically judge people's 'worth' as entirely their job title.

they will basically only respect people who have high status jobs like doctor, and look down on everyone else. they also have a massively inflated sense of their own job's importance when most of the time they are just some middle manager in an office.

  • I know. and sometimes... my passengers tell me off for 'being a pussy' for following it... because they are such shitty backseat drivers.

like some people legit think tailgating is how you should drive... at all times and all speeds. same idiots who have massive accident rates and blame other drivers for 'being in the way'.

  • that seems a lot larger for people to conceptualize though.

  • lucky. where I live there is about a 1/3 chance the person you hold the door for tells you to f yourself or you are 'in their way'.

Nobody ever smiles or thanks you. At best you get a blank look.

  • Same. Sooo many people are incredibly rude and entitled assholes and they see basic manners as weird or 'weak'.

I have had many terrible rude dates tell me how being nice to the waiter makes me 'look weak'. It's so weird and pathetic, but that's how a lot of people view the work, like some savage competition.

it's gotten so bad where i live that I'm like genuinely impressived if a date says thank you to someone else, and totally SHOCKED if they say it to me for buying them something. 10 years ago most of my dates were polite and would thank me for the date, now they basically tell me to fuck off at the end of it if they aren't into me.

  • you can compliment her on her revealing dress though!

  • Yeah, that seems like another slam dunk if they do that. Remaking N64 games makes a lot of sense as the audience was so small for them 20+ years ago but the gameplay and design of those games is eternally good.

Everyone was so skeptical of StarFox but then they played it and loved it and it's done very well.
