  • I have for sure experienced the explosive boiling over of superheated water, but like a couple times in my life and I'm an old guy. It's crazy when it happens though. The water looks like it didn't get to the boiling point, but when you disturb it, it starts insanely boiling over. Got boiling water on my hand, but not badly burned.

  • Two comments for you:

    1. Using your credit card for all that incidental stuff and paying it off in full each month is a good way to build a good credit history/score.
    2. If you lose you card again, remember that you can withdraw cash without it by going into the bank.

  • They do just have the one plate that has all the spikey parts on it, but that's not really the reason it bites round holes. It's that it uses its mouth as a suction and then chomps through the part it's attached to. Of course the shape of the tooth/teeth is related. That's not the mystery they were looking to solve though, it was when and where they feed.

  • I bet I would, but I also bet it's not all boomers making those statements (older than early 70s are Silents, younger than mid 50s are GenX). I also don't believe that it's okay to engage in sweeping stereotypes just because other people engage in sweeping stereotypes.

  • I bet you wouldn't make such a sweeping statement about a racial minority. The percentage of boomers (like me) who vote for progressive policies is pretty large, though not a majority. It's not that dissimilar from GenX and millennials.

  • It does seem so. Cats' internal temp is a bit warmer than ours - like 101 or 102F. Lots of blood vessels near the surface in a butthole, so it's warmer than most other areas, though would expect it to be slightly cooler than internal. Not 8 degrees cooler though.

  • Like most things, I believe it's on a spectrum, with some people being very much who they seem, and some people being completely disingenuous. We all do things that we know others would frown upon (to one degree or another), so it's always tempting to hide those things, sometimes to the extent that we hide the whole part of ourselves that would do then.

  • "MAGA curious" is the most disingenuous phrase. Unlike things like sexuality, you don't have to experiment with a political ideology to see if it fits you. No one says, "Well, I've been supporting equal rights and healthcare for all, but I think I might want to deport anyone with brown skin and protect pedophiles if they're rich." She's just doing a variant of Rogan's "I'm just asking questions" thing.

  • No joke - my wife and I were eating so much of it for a while that you could smell it on our sweat.

    Also, what they say is true: we got zero mosquito bites during that time.
