  • But if you're writing something significant, you're probably using a text editor, and many of them will automatically replace the en dash when the em dash when the are spaces on either side.

  • Yes it's a complete mystery. As the super wealthy get significantly more wealthy by squeezing every dollar out of everyone else, somehow they're able to afford ridiculous extravagances, like enormous floating mansions that have the carbon footprint of a small town.

  • Hey that's unfair, that guy isn't very old.

  • Edit: fun fact, the fake banana taste is actually based off of the “gris michel” banana.

    This is an urban legend.

The real reason artificial banana flavoring tastes so jarring isn’t because food scientists modeled it on a lost fruit from a century ago. It comes down to a classic case of isolated organic chemistry vs. complex natural agriculture, a phenomenon known in statistical science as the “n=1” problem, and a single volatile molecule called isoamyl acetate.

  • I often rehearse conversations in my head, not so that I'm following some sort of script, but so I can think about what the person I'm going to be talking to is likely to say or think about what I've said. I've found it helps me listen to my own thoughts more through someone else's ears, helps me think about ways to clarify what I've said, and helps me tailor my words to the specific person.

  • People have egg allergies and can’t get vaccines unfortunately. Then you have the nutters that won’t take vaxxes and then here we are.

The people with allergies are a tiny fraction of the population, and they're one of the reasons why everyone else should get vaccinated. The other reason is that none of the vaccines are 100 percent effective. The tiny percentage of the population who can't get vaccinated, and the people for whom the vaccine didn't fully protect, are much safer if the other folks are vaccinated because the virus can't get a foothold, so exposure the up being negligible. Say someone comes in from another country that has an active infection. If all the people who that person encounters are protected, then the virus stops with that person.

The problem is that the number of people buying into the anti vaccine garbage is now nontrivial, so that herd immunity is out the window, and these previously well controlled viruses are now able to spread.

  • I solved part of that by not having any goals.

  • Guilty dogs have to be some of the cutest things on the planet.

  • Sure. And as other have said, powder coat would be a bit better and just painting the part that doesn't go into the lock would serve the same purpose without the problems.

  • Yep, that was my point - that paint is going to rub off into the locking mechanism and be a nightmare eventually.

  • Color aside, what a terrible idea

  • They both used to raid the cat box if unsupervised.

The dog version of almond roca.

  • She's on the right team so they probably don't care.

  • How so? She was appointed by the governor, wasn't she?

  • Except "the people" didn't choose this

  • Just a coincidence that the most qualified person happens to be his sister.

  • Aww, very cute.

When I lay down in bed, mine lays with her back against my chest and lifts her head so her nose is at the base of my neck to tell me that's what she wants. I'll rub her tummy for a while and when she's done she'll curl into a ball with her back against me. It's very cute.

  • My cat absolutely loves her tummy rubbed.

I'm not sure if it's intentional, but all I see in this hotel bathroom wallpaper is stacked cats
