    You say you want the good parts, but chat got isnt telling you how to keep them. By keeping it small. If you want large and popular, go back to reddit. Not every place has to be the most popular.

    I haven't seen one yet. Tons of prospects, none deployable on the size of say, the north american grid.

    All large scale batteries are chack full of rare earth metals, which are not named for their famous availability.

    Other than that, I haven't seen much in this thread.

    I see a few points of how Frances configuration for cooling may not be good, but that's not an unsolvable problem?

    At least more solvable than the energy storage problem.

    You need baseline and demand power.

    Renewables like wind and solar are great for demand. As they provide power typically when usuage is peaking. But those power outputs drop when its needed most, so you still need baseline power.

    Nuclear power is great at baseline, but because it takes a lot to ramp power up and down, isnt great to handle peak loads.

    Notice the team up here?

    Why is it always renewables or nuclear. Both have their places.

    This solves the energy storage problems as well. Less of a need for batteries with rare earth metals that are.... Finite.

  • Being an open source dev requires thicker skin than you'd think, and even thinker than most people have.

    Either you go the community route where you build a loyal user base, listen to feedback, and have q community of contributors as well.

    Or you go the 'I made something cool for me, and its open so anyone can use it too!'

    The former is sustainable, the later is not if you domt maintain the idea that its yours first and only.

    Once you start half listening to people using your stuff, but believe what you want is right, starts to isolate you.

    You think all your users are stupid for their feature requests, because you don't need it. Plus you alone are in charge. Its your repo.

    This ego can continue to inflate to this point. I've seen it in both closed and open source (anyone remever when the FSLabs A320 for Microsoft flightsim with malware? Just me?... Okay).

    But this is by no means new.
