  • So instead he mangled the phrase so badly we're still making fun of him for it twenty years later?

  • Sure puts the complaints about the erroneous deck signage in Trek V into perspective, doesn’t it?

  • Always loved the theme. The ship and set design are aces, too. But I’ve never been able to get through more than a handful of episodes of the show itself.

  • I don't know why they didn't try this right away. Huge plot hole.

  • In fact, between this and the fact that the Engineering room set changed significantly between seasons 1 and 2, I've grown pretty partial to the idea that there are at least two and likely more rooms of a similar layout throughout the ship. Everybody wins.

  • Who has time to watch an explosion? There's cool guy errands that they have to walk to.

  • Lots of debates about the internal arrangement of the original series Enterprise…

    • Bridge: forward facing or offset?
    • Engineering: primary or secondary hull?
    • Shuttlebay: short or extending under the nacelle pylons?
    • How big is this ship, anyway??
  • I will not be stunned, buffered, cloned, mind scanned, tuvixed, detuvixed, or numbered! My life is my own.

  • I mean... I don't want to spend a lot of time defending 2009, but that does describe Kirk and Spock's story arc in the film.

  • Even if I accept the rediculous elements, the plot is so shoddy. There's some dropped plotline about Kirk's health failing that gets referenced at the start but then forgotten entirely? It reminds me of Finn's near death confession of something to Rey in JJ's Star Wars that also receives no follow up. It's like he gets bored editting his own movie and just nopes out after one pass.

  • But hand her a great work of alien literature, and it's just a bunch of squiggles.

  • Stylistically, it's spectacular. Plot and theme are both weak, but a good introduction to the characters. I do appreciate how much TOS tribute it fits into the package.

Into Darkness intoduced more classic Trek anti-militarization messaging, but the story was dreadful, and somewhat presaged what happened with Abrams and the final Star Wars film.

Beyond was the best Trek film of that era but, of course, Abrams wasn't involved in it.

  • The only thing I see wrong here is that Kirk's era always used four digit stardates. Everything else checks out.

  • A true Klingon never falls off.

  • Yes. Remain Klingon!!!

  • I just want to stop waking up to find the day already enfucked.

  • Awkward

  • Since we now know mobile holo emitters are a thing by that time period, I’m convinced that the Leah mentioned in AGT was the hologram. No way the real deal gave him the time of day after that intro.

  • It is imperative that the stembolt remains unharmed!
