as alive as you need me to be

  • 'CoPilot'.

Dear fucking Christ I hope not.

  • To me it looks like kitty cat is roughly halfway through being manually rebooted.

    cat.exe has crashed

    attempt recovery? [y/n]

  • "Kept it warm for ya'."

  • Slightly annoyed and hungry me:

    Warrior.

Realize I am slightly annoyed and hungry, take care of that, take quiz again:

    Mage.

  • Well it easily could, not like those folks don't know how to organize and plan... eventful vacations.

  • This needs more updoots.

It is a seriously fantastic mod, has a great soundtrack, just all around awesome.

  • Look, I'm not Catholic or any kind of Christian, but...

Catholics do not believe that Jesus' blood turns into wine.

So... acting like they do... is just trolling, basically.

Its not a joke, because it doesn't stem from a thing that someone actually believes.

It is simply asserting that someone believes a thing they do not... which is trolling.

There are a vast plethora of ludicrous things that varying kinds of Christians believe are literally true, that you could make an actual joke out of.

  • Yes but that's backwards of what the comic is representing.

As I said... I don't think any kind of Christian believes that Jesus' blood ever turns into wine.

That doesn't happen anywhere in the text.

So... the joke is... based off of a thing that doesn't happen?

It would be like making a joke based off the idea that Moses can summon floods.

He can't. He's never shown to be able to do that, he's shown to be a water bender who can move water out of the way, but not generate it.

  • Yeah, I don't get this.

In John, there's a wedding and the planners forgot to bring the booze, so Jesus tells some dudes to fill a bunch of casks with water, and then poof kablamo, they are made into wine via the power of Jesus being irritated.

There's certainly a lot of imagery and focus on the blood of Jesus in the Bible... but the whole transsubstantiation/consubstantiation thing is about ... the reverse of this, wine either transforming into, or metaphorically representing the blood of Christ.

I am... not aware of any part of the Bible nor sect/branch/denomination/church that teaches that Jesus at any point turns his blood into wine.

I don't think that even happens in any of the 'expanded universe' / Gnostic texts.

    In summary:

    Wine -> Blood? Yes*.

    Water -> Wine? Yes.

    Blood -> Wine? No.

  • Its nuts, but this is basically just how fascism works.

More than enough people, politicians and the populace, basically just get stun locked by the pure audacity of 'you can just do stuff', as all the 'norms' that were never formalized just evaporate.

The response is at first bureacratic, procedural, untill it becomes extremely obvious that the entire strategy of the fascists is to weaponize everything.

Even then, it tends to take a while for most people and politicians to actually begin to react in kind, strategically, seriously, largely because they are afraid of... further destroying the norms that the fascists already destroyed.

Normalcy bias. "It can't happen here" exceptionalism. Cowardice. Incompetence. Propoganda. Historical illiteracy.

    Take your pick.

If state governors were more clever, they'd be coming up with reasons to keep their National Guard busy doing something 'important' in their states, literally just to deny them from being mobilized Federally, or make it more procedurally difficult and more of a PR mess for the Feds to do so.

  • Just send little figurines of the puppy she murdered, with prayers for it.

  • True, the history of the occult is... to put it extremely mildly, quite complicated.

  • Alternate explanation:

She was basically a tsundere, and attempting to flirt with you.

She insulted your nose because either:

    A) She is very vain and hates the idea of finding another person attractive and thus had to work some random snide comment in there, happened to be your nose.

    B) Basically the same, but she was actually particularly fascinated by your nose, she found it quite appealing, and being a vain tsundere, specifically insulted it, because she is jealous of it.

Not by way of steering, but by way of slowing down to take turns at safe speeds, which is done by some form a control mechanism, which may be or resemble a wheel.

  • I am crippled and don't get out much these days...

... but I do remember having to actually explain to a 20ish yo woman that no, chocolate milk does not infact come from brown cows.

Most of the conversation was me assuming she was fucking with me.

    Nope. She was dead serious.

  • Malignant narcissist.

At this point I'm convinced this is functionally a heritable trait, either directly via genetetics, or by way of conditioning, generational trauma.

  • I'm not sure how post offices in these states could even respond.

By laughing and ignoring it, having the Governors and Attorneys General of those states countermand it with their own executive orders / statements, just straight up saying that this is plainly obviously unconstitutional.

They could then also threaten legal action against anyone at the USPS who does not listen to them.

Its yet another Constitutional Crisis, any way you look at it, but, its not like there's just no possible response.

The President is straight up demanding that Postal Workers engage in a conspiracy to, amongst other things... tamper with people's mail.

So, any manager or supervisor who orders that be done? 30,000 counts of mail fraud, you're arrested and go to jail forever.

Set up a state tip line for USPS workers to report anything like that happening.
