  • Jellyfin is the o ly OSS project I've walked away from a change. It was a simple exception thrown that could be ignored in very specific circumstances that I remember. I wrote up the change, left several lines of comments, looked up code style, files the bug and PR in the proper way and... Rejected.

    My 2 or 3 line PR was nitpicked to hell, I think the fourth round of reviews I just walked away. It wasn't worth it for me at that point.

    So I'm not entirely surprised that they're feeling burnout. It seemed exhausting getting anything done.

  • AC reuses the same fan that goes through the furnace. Even though the furnace is not on the fan still blows air through it. My heat exchanger sits above the filter, which sits above the furnace

    Living through this has taught me that while I was a strong federalist to try and guarantee rights and build out what I think will help society, it only takes one rogue faction to turn it all against you.

  • Best "it just works" solution I've found. So many others are just weird scripts around yt-dlp, and this kind of is too, but the most maintained and supported. I'm at like... well I have over 1000 pages of videos in there. It's solid.

  • One of those things I don't get, with all if the news on bad parents, why are we so eager to force people who obviously don't want a child to have them? Obviously it's not good for the child or the parent.

    Of course then you realize it's not about the child or the parent, but the person picketing and screaming and their own personal emotions. They think they are thinking of the children, but it's much more selfish.

  • So what does it mean that I've held these same beliefs for over 20 years now and didn't need a comic? What does it mean that my wife holds the same beliefs, and that we're both pro choice? Am I brainwashed? Have I been for decades now?

    Or have I looked around and known I do not believe there is a moral way for me personally to bring life into this world. Adopt maybe, but not new life.
