Little bit of everything!

Gaming (Mass Effect, Witcher, and too much Satisfactory)

Sci-fi

I live for 90s TV sitcoms

  • Right? That's my thing, look at airlines and their Razer thin margins. They just built this megastructure and can't operate any of it without completely depending on gas prices.

Even without the green aspects no one stopped to think about the return on investment of layering the entire place in solar? 5 years from now? 20?

  • I tried marketplace but its a cesspool. Ended up selling mine to Carmax, may be surprised, I got a grand more than I expected. If it wasn't for bottom feeders who lowball everything I would have tried longer online.

  • Real men build their own girlfriends, they don't wait for some beta company to do it for them.

  • There how I've reframed it every time I hear it. So how are you reducing your need for gas? I'm biking and taking transit so it has stopped hurting so much. Try to alter their thinking from "this is unavoidable" to "I guess we could do fewer trips"

  • Is it even doxxing to call out a username? It's his @, we can all see it

  • I feel sorry that it didn't happen weeks before the holidays like what he did to his own employees. Let him sit with failure through Christmas dinner.

  • AI isn't evil. Generative AI isn't evil. AI has existed for 20+ years now, I studied it back in my uni days.

Corporations, how they trained it, how they use it now, how they are willing to pave the planet to force it down our throats is evil.

This is one of those things as tech people we have to come to terms with and understand. No technology is inherently good or evil, it's what people do with it.

  • Didn't read the article did you.

  • Quality reference

  • Hey same, except my mom's mom went through the depression here in the states and it rubbed off on her.

She loves to call out how particular I am about food, when actually I love trying new foods! I simply don't like getting food poisoning from whatever hot dish/casserole she made 4 months ago that has been sitting in the fridge. At Christmas one year she brought out canned whipped cream, rediwhip, and it was 3 years expired! I didn't notice and was sick for a week!

  • Nothing made me care so little about buying things than the corporations desperate want for me to buy them.

New games? Eh I'll replay mass effect or skyrim. New hardware (before the crisis), looks real nice, don't think I need it. The more they pushed me to buy the less I cared. If they all started chilling out maybe I'd get back into it, but doesn't look like it.

  • Nope sounds right, sounds like she had heart failure already and this kicked it off. She wanted to go out the way she lived, as a Karen.

  • To all of us who have worked a drive thru before, utterly unsurprised. Of course she was willing to give her life up over a sandwich.

  • Karening to the max

  • What they aren't going to try it the day they receive them? Do any of us not play with new toys the same conditions we get them?

  • Health

  • I was on a train crossing the border and border patrol came on and asked everyone if they had fruits or veg.

This group ahead of me said "we don't eat that stuff" and then all four laughed. The sad punchline is that he thought he was so clever, but alli saw was 4 obese people not realizing how much they just said about themselves.

  • I can honestly put up with a lot, especially in a doctor's office. Hell it's the only place I'm okay with something up my ass. I would walk out if my doctor came in with those glasses. I will go and find a new doctor. There is no way I am okay with a personal camera in that exam room.

  • Our parents. My mom is addicted, spends every spare moment endlessly scrolling. I tried for a while to get her off but you can't help someone who doesn't want to be helped. No shit she spent 10 straight hours on it once. Didn't move at all, she is their ideal consumer.

  • Didn't they just force it today or something? Not sure if I'd call that a huge commercial success if they're forcing all of their users to use it
