  • First off, fuck this artist for implying that working in the service industry is not difficult nor requires skill.

    Second, I make a very good living as a tipped worker in the service industry. There's no way in hell that a small business owner could afford to pay a wage even close to what I make in tips.

    There is an established system in place in certain industries the US and it works. Otherwise people wouldn't do those jobs.

    That being said, I don't think we should be adding that system to other jobs. Everyone knows to tip your bartender. Not everyone is going to know that now you have to tip your supermarket cashier just for them make a decent wage.

  • Try looking into binaural beats. It's not just white noise but an adjustable auditory effect that promotes various states of mind.

    I use this one. Apparently it has ads but I use a private dns so I don't see them.

    If you prefer open source there is this which has some useful presets but isn't really customizable.

  • Velvet Underground's last album Sqeeze is basically a Doug Yule solo album and made without any original members. Yule joined the band about halfway through its existence. For that reason many don't consider it part of the band's catalog. Personally, I think the album gets unfairly judged. It's pretty good, just not on par with Lou Reed's work, but what is?
