  • The one from the show is the licensed one, they just took one off the shelf and modified it. If you are looking to replicate the prop you have the choice to do so from scratch, or get hold of the same bank and make the mods to it they did.

  • This may screw up your enthusiasm to make a replica from scratch, but they used a real Ferengi coin bank which was sold back then as that prop (repainted of course.)

    I remember because I had that bank as a kid, and when this episode went out I was pretty jazzed to see that they turned my toy into a screen-used thing.

  • I was once shopping for an office chair, and since you can't tell what a chair is like to sit in by browsing online listings I went to Staples to try out their chairs on display. I found one I liked, and was ready to buy it. On a whim I used my phone and the store's wifi to look up the same chair on the Staples website, where I found it on sale for less money with free delivery included.

    Still sitting in the chair in the store I ordered it online, saved some money, and then went home without having to take a heavy chair with me on the bus.
