  • It's Twitter 2.0. It's what the average person wants. It's popular because it has algorithms and all the other addictive things from corporate social media.

Mastodon and others don't have these things and are harder to get started with. Picking a server is weird and scary. After that, getting your home feed started is difficult if you don't know to just follow some hashtags.

  • Hell yeah. I just wanted to add another option. I have no opinion regarding Sublime and choice is a good thing. There's something for everyone.

  • Notepad++ is my text editor of choice as someone who just edits the occasional file. I'm not a programmer or anything, but it's nice to have those autocomplete and syntax highlighting features for config files. Helps me keep track of stuff better when editing.

  • Maybe they picked it up again. Or we're talking about different Raccoons. Either way, good to have a fallback and Thunder has been great.

  • The dev gave up on it due to too many entitled demands from users or something from what I remember.

ETA: Try Thunder as well. Raccoon was my backup for it back then.

  • Thunder and Voyager are two very popular options both available for Android and iOS. I use Thunder myself, with Voyager as my backup in case anything ever happens to Thunder the way it did with Liftoff and Raccoon.

  • Owning the libs. Getting them so triggered.

  • You're absolutely right and I forgot that for a moment there.

  • On your phone (and other devices) you can also use a DNS adblocker. Less effective, but good for most people.

    Mullvad.

    Control D.

    AdGuard.

ETA: This usually doesn't work on YouTube. Sorry for any confusion. Works decently enough for other ads at least.

  • Here's hoping this becomes a proper english version with the same dedication as the original. Think a lot of people could appreciate something like this.

  • Try Thunder as well. Available for Android and iPhone I think.

  • Turns out it was on my phone too. Uninstalled and reported as inappropriate. Fuck Google

  • Use All to get started. Check it out now and then for some variety and maybe to find new communities. But absolutely curate your own Subscribed timeline.

  • Opera Mini isn't what it used to be. Became an absolute resource hog with all the spyware and extra shit stuffed in. Back then it was a solid option for those of us that couldn't afford all the mobile data needed to surf the web. Now it's just a personal data hoovering POS.

  • Try and fail to look rugged. They just end up looking like the douche nozzles they are.

  • And get real professionals to design and build future models.

  • Yes, that would seem like an ISP, DNS, or some other block. Try changing the DNS on your devices to p0.freedns.controld.com or something similar and test again.

Edit: Changed to a DNS server with no ad or other blocking.

  • Works just fine.

  • Seems like it's just you.

Tested with two different services and it's up. I also accessed the site and it's working fine.
