  • SA is a huge digital nomad hotspot. i haven't been there, but it's a favorite of a lot of nomads. They've all said that it's fast, reliable, a bit pricey on housing but you can work around it, and hella fun. I've never heard anyone complain about it.

  • I remember a few years ago some people got pissed over a clip posted from Legend of the Galactic Heroes and people were like, "this is from the 80s/90s. I think the scene was one where people protested in a stadium and a soldier fires, then everyone starts shooting and it's a masacre. Then the guy who's the "competent dictator" type is like "so this is democracy, eh". I think that's how it went.

  • not having as much of it elsewhere could be a good thing?

  • man the 70s were wild

  • I have so e personal and professional cards that also have a qr code on them. It's been a good way to not get lost in an address book with a thousand names

  • I've seen people on news and other places saying that they can't send texts with the word "Epstein," there was also censorship around Israel and ICE videos as well

  • hahaha thank you, and glad to be making pies

  • write freely has their own hosted servers (https://read.write.as/), and ghost is a federated platform for monetized blogging (ghost.org).

for write freely, I found the fediverse observer page for write freely (https://writefreely.fediverse.observer/list). I once came across a huge write freely blog, but can't find it anymore.

on Keyboard Vagabond, I have a Topic set up with different blog communities that I found https://piefed.keyboardvagabond.com/topic/blogs.

it may also help to search mastodon for #blog and#blogging to find some people and then you can follow them there or on RSS from their main sites.

I don't know if that actually answers you question, but it's things I've done to find people.

  • they would be welcome to have a post there!

But for promotion, one of the biggest issues I've had while traveling is the online presence. They should have a Google maps entry with the keywords that they want, their website should mention it, as well as their SEO entries.

I'd recommend them have keywords like cowork, nomad, digital nomad, retreat, health and wellness, etc. There are definitely people looking for that vibe when they travel!

A good place to recommend them would be https://piefed.keyboardvagabond.com/c/coworking_locations

Be sure to include the location and a summary as well to best help them get found, both in piefed and also on search engines ☺️

  • it helped me, because I have no idea what those are, but that line really solidified that it was a dad joke. I'm also a few beers in atm.

  • do you happen to remember the dream? I am very curious toward that setup

  • how do you know this off-hand? ffmpeg always felt like the most incantationest of all incantations to me

    also, upvoted for good feedback

  • truly, a lover AND a fighter

  • The earliest order I can see related to my current phone is 2021. I quite like it and changed out the battery this year, so it lasts all day again.

Sometimes the performance slows down and I don't know if that's because of poor software updates, but it has a headphone jack and a great DAC. The screen is still in good condition, etc, so I don't intend to replace it any time soon.

  • The same way we did it before those things existed or had taken over. Believe it or not, the internet used to be that way 👴

  • never, unless I asked. When they had to look, they either asked or let me know first.

  • he sold Christmas trees though
