  • sort of, on cpu it's slow, but if you are running a large model on something with s lot of RAM, those will be slower unless you can do multiple GPUs. the main issue is the size of the model. I ran a few smaller ones that i could fit in 16GB but the issue is that they're not really useful

  • I started with dynamic DNS on my home server, then moved to an encrypted tunnel. the issue with ddns is that your provider may block your ports. Mine eventually blocked 80, 443, and the wire guard port.

    When I switched to tunnels, with cloudflare as my provider, there was nothing my provider could do about it.

    So, I'd recommend tunnels since many providers don't want residential users hosting servers.

  • One thing I've found is that people tend to have no chill. I've shared some posts with friends that don't use it and multiple times they've responded with "why are they so serious"

  • I got gitea running on my VPs cluster that I use to host keyboard vagabond services. I moved my repository from my home PC into it, and set up an action runner to automate a build and deploy of piefed, so it runs my build script, pushes to harbor registry (internal), and then deletes and recreates a job to run db migrations and restarts the web and worker pods.

    I'm going to migrate the other build services to it as well, and after that I should be able to finally get all of my services behind cloud flare tunnels and tail scale, and finally remove the last bits of ingress-nginx. The registry was the only thing still on ingress-nginx because I needed to push larger image files than are permitted by cloud flare. since all of that is internal now, I get to finally seal those bits off.

    The build is also faster since I don't have to rely on wifi

  • Nope, I have lots of friends who have best friends of both genders outside of their partners. If anything, it's good to have these relationships since you're not putting everything (and all of your needs) just on your partner. It's good to be able to spread our relationships and needs around a bit. If anything, if you're boyfriend was insecure about it, then that'd be an insecurity on his side. It's healthy to have friendships. It's not like you two are flirting or getting any romantic or sexual energy from each other (it isn't always from sex). I give two thumbs up for friends!

  • the thing is, normal was always heading in this direction. Capitalism consolidates power into the hands of a few and it keeps consolidating. It will always yield toward more poverty, though for some at home they can wealthier off the exploitation of others.

    I get what you mean, but going back to normal will get you right back here in a few years or decades.

    I think that the answer is socialism. But for sure, pretty much nobody believes that anyone should have the wealth and power that our capitalists do.

  • I had typing class in school, but got better with it by video games. I now use Colemak, but can blind type in qwerty and colemak

  • I have made a Kubernetes to Docker-compose converter/devolver. It's horrible. It's glorious.
