  • Nah, it is trump; it is probably more water than that

  • i will not say that Steam has a lot of pro-consumer functionality. but in this particular case, the thing that sony is being critizied for is something Valve has already done, 20 years ago

  • This meme is a pet peeve because sony is doing exactly the same thing that valve did when they released steam, of going digital-only and tying game ownership to digital accounts.

  • laissez-faire capitalism doens't actually work if externalities need to be factored in the price

  • Leverage buyouts are just a symptom of the problems in the system

In theory, leverage buyouts make perfect sense, kinda like a mortgage. You get a loan to buy something with that same as a collateral.

The fact that these usually ends in worse conditions for everyone is not because leverage buyouts are the problem, but the private ownership. Toys r' us should have been owned by the workers, man utd by the fans, as so forth

  • Yeah, it is so people think that the ai companies are seeing the next, not-yet-public versions and are scared, they must be so powerful, right?

Altman has been claiming chat gpt made him feel dumb since 4.5

  • Last time we tried killing Nazis. Worked fine

  • I have to counter this. Yes, the 5 books are amazing, top notch low fantasy. 4 and 5 start to lose the plot a bit, but still good. But at this point it is unlikely that we will get an ending, and the 5th book ends with massive cliffhangersand unresolved plots. Hard for me to recommend it to someone until/unless it gets finished.

  • losers with no morals know that there is no easier, self-selecting mark for scams than the maga cult

  • Legally emigrating to a new country takes a lot of effort, but even doing it illegally (by buying a ticket and overstaying your tourist visa) would take at least a few thousand dollars, for the flight plus expenses for a few months while you find some income

  • so you don't only dislike common mushrooms (fair, you eat what you want) but now the whole Fungi kingdom is garbage?

  • that is exactly what it does

the fewer repeats is for when you listen to the same playlist multiple times, not for the sequence itself

  • Differently types of risks. Giving a 3rd party access to your full cloud storage has massive privacy concerns that he is right to want to avoid.

  • I think your timing is wrong. AI exploded after the staying at home was over.

ChatGPT was released on Nov 30, 2022, and that is the point when AI came into mainstream (even if gpt 3 or midjourney had been available already). By that point, stay at home restrictions had been gone by about a year, if not a bit more. For reference, the fifa world cup, with full attendance, started 10 days before

  • It is because Obama got it before. It is not that deep

  • Yeah, if you keep saying "no matter how much you hurt me, i am still going to keep voting you into power", then you shouldn't be surprised that they hurt you as much as they can.

Having a limit on something that you see as a deal breaker is necessary and good, yet these people see that as a weakness

  • I understand what it is trying to say, but i don't think kids this day are glued to the tv. It is more on phone and ipads

  • He doesn't even live in the city

  • Not The Onion @lemmy.world
