  • while a phone signing a video to show that it was captured with the camera is possible, it will be easy too to fake the signature. all it would take would be a hacked device to steal the private key. and even if apple/google/samsung have perfectly secure systems to sign the origin of the video, there would be ton of cheaper phones that would likely won't.

  • according to AOC, it is because MTG wanted to run for Senate next year and Trump told her no

  • the reason i am happy about the results is not because of zohran himself (even if i think he is great). i refuse to be like the people who idolize their chosen leader.

i am happy because the campaign showed people that community effort can produce effective results. democracy doesn't mean that we chose our leaders, it means that the power is in the people, and that is worth celebrating in itself

  • you can't build Skynet without a nuclear arsenal, after all

  • Agree

    Jump
  • i do find the drawing so confusing. does the author find the uphill sections of roller coasters as the best part?

  • surely that means that they will follow children privacy protection laws and not track information of anyone who they can't verify is an adult, right?

    right?

  • i am in a similar position. i have started to give serious thought to the idea of moving back home (to a country with a much lower cost of living than the US), and live from savings while i figure out what i want to do the rest of my life.

  • Just your regular reminder that the President of the United States is deranged in the Epstein Files and trying to distract.

  • i'll have to agree they need to return to their old name. Washington Football Team was great, they should return to that

  • I haven't used AI agents yet, but my job is kinda pushing for them. but i have used the google one that creates audio podcasts, just to play around, since my coworkers were using it to "learn" new things. i feed it with some of my own writing and created the podcast. it was fun, it was an audio overview of what i wrote. about 80% was cool analysis, but 20% was straight out of nowhere bullshit (which i know because I wrote the original texts that the audio was talking about). i can't believe that people are using this for subjects that they have no knowledge. it is a fun toy for a few minutes (which is not worth the cost to the environment anyway)

  • it's funny, because I would much rather do 100F over even 20F. anything below freezing starts to be really uncomfortable; but 100F can be nice for me if its under 50% humidity. above that, and specially about 60% and it starts to be annoying.

but i 100% agree that it is easier to put more clothes to keep the cold away than it is to cool down when it is hot; but i like the toasty

  • i mean, single digits is also leathal; 9F is much worse than 100F. it is just easier to warm a room than it is to cool it down, but if you had to be exposed to the outside temperature 9F will kill you, 100F won't

  • Doesn’t mean you can’t have a normal life without a wife or a kid. It just doesn’t mean average then.

wait. so normal means average, or normal does not mean average?

  • los pumas me comieron la cara

  • no, for sure there are limits. if you cultivated a whole functional brain, for example, would be dystopic af

  • i would not call Lucier a musican, but i do find some of his sound art interesting. 'I am sitting in a room' can be kinda meditative in an interesting way

  • it is important to note that the article says that Alvin eagrly agreed to this experiment, and donated the blood for it. If that is true, then I don't see any ethical dillemma in here

  • the article is about how dictatorships are a worse form of government than republics. It means that dictatorships fail because they creates poorer and worse countries. not that they fails because they are not able to maintain themselves

  • they are not cutting any fraud. the US already has an independent, non-partisan accountability office that actually investigates spending, instead of cutting random items based on the name without any analysis or understanding like musk is doing. and the executive power (including any stupidly named agency within in) has no power to change the budget set by congress. it is literally unconstitutional.
