Not all bosses are fair; some are though, and the same is true for friends, family, and general situations. Just because pain can be an outcome of change to avoid unfairness however, I'd argue against it being a constant feature. In which case- the meme you posted may well be more pessimistic than reality, reflecting a view that I hope you don't hold at all times.
