  • Harley was a 7 year old we brought home from the shelter, and she already knew her name so we didn't have a lot of latitude to change it on the fly.

    However, she did respond just as well to "Barley", so that became her new name, with the standard variety of variants like "Barles" (said like "Charles"), "Barlow" or "Barlikins".
