Despite that I like this particular headline, someone already posted a link to a Wall Street Journal article about this roughly half an hour before you (https://lemmy.world/post/51652443).
A friend asked for me and turns out there have already been a bunch of adult content creators donating massive amounts to the war effort. Guess them earning that money illegally isn't ideal. But on the other hand, could just be normal capitalism - people making money illegally give the government some money and suddenly the government wonders if that should really illegal.
They don't care how long you've been smoking, I guess it has more to do with how much money you have. Maybe they figured out they can't suck you any more dry then you already are. Or they dont think you would spend enough to justify the R&D. Imagine living with someone who's able to spend $900 on a silly joke, and then ask them to move out because one or the jokes wasn't good enough. Rich people have such weird solutions to their problems.
Fun fact: While developed nations feel the need to provide their subjects with the globally recognized human rights the UN wrote down, US leadership only feels the need to provide their corporations with ways to make money.
TIL. Explains a lot really.
