  • Only in that he is a stump that speaks

  • ❤️

  • in this one picture, I see generations of so many individual great ideas coalescing into one fantastically bad idea (and stupidly comical consequence) that is so... bizarre that I can both simultaneously understand why nobody really saw it coming, and am in low-key disbelief that this is even real...

  • if you say so

  • "The Life and Times of Thomas Edison"

  • on a slight tangent: that's why I tend to prefer Claude (when I have to use AI), because it does actually provide push-back and doesn't get all kiss-ass with me like ChatGPT

  • I honestly can't see it clearly enough to discern a mechanism amidst the hair, and, in total, it still looks much more like a capped pen to me, but as I said in my edit, because of the smooth physicality and lack of thickness steppage that you'd see with a capped pen, it must be a clicky pen.

and I wouldn't characterize this as an argument. just a friendly discussion ;)

  • lol, maybe it is a clicky pen. the pic isn't clear enough to be absolutely sure, so I concede.

edit: in fact, just because the black/white transition appears to be more of a seam without a thickness steppage that you'd see with a cap, I believe it to be more likely a clicky pen than a capped pen. so you're probably correct.

  • that really looks like a black cap at the top.

maybe I'm wrong, and I'm definitely not gonna get into an online argument over this.

  • not a clicky pen

but don't let that stop you from trying!

edit: clearly I was wrong. see a comment further down for my explanation

  • you gotta be fucking kidding me

  • Great explanation. Thanks!

  • That’s why they don’t see any problem with replacing workers with AI. They think AI will do X better than humans do just like machines could build X better than humans could at the beginning of the industrial revolution.

But the cost benefit analysis often proves to be quite the opposite in the long-term, despite deceptive short-term gains. But a short-term gains seem to be all that businesses seem to care about.

  • That’s if you use AI at work. But instead of the fam, it’s your boss.

  • Quickly? 50,000 seconds is 13 hours, 53 minutes and 20 seconds

edit: aaahhh. ms not s. stupid windows

  • So the Founders uplifted a lower species and genetically modified them, Wayoun 1 was definitely the original.

that's how he made it sound, but who knows what really happened. I could have been more complicated than that.

  • I don’t think it was either that he was a person who was then cloned or that he was fabricated. I think it was a mixture of both.

Wayoun 6 tells Odo that the Vorta were an an ape-like species that the Founders genetically engineered into what they are today. So Wayoun 1 was very likely the original.
