  • The blades on Freddy Krueger’s glove were made from scissors, not knives

  • I had a similar experience. It’s responsible for why I hate clowns.

  • While I’ve been a Linux user for a very long time, I’ve also been an Apple user for even longer. While love both, I only very recently combined them when I simply no longer could get by running Mac OS 10.15 on my 2012 iMac. The os was just to damned out-of-date to be useful anymore as my plex server, so I bit the bullet and migrated to Fedora 44 Workstation, and wow, I’m glad I did.

There were a couple of hiccups here and there, mostly with the fact that the primary display burned out many years ago, and I have to use the secondary display as a primary display, were just difficult to set up. But, otherwise, it runs really great.

Now, I don’t imagine I’ll have much use for linux on my nine month old MacBook Pro, but I’m really glad that I’ll have the option when the time comes.

  • Ooo

  • Yeah, that’s a no can-do. There are way too many other critters around that would be attracted to anything left outside, even for a few hours.

  • I checked as well as I could, but the under side of the house is pretty vast, and access options are pretty few. It’s been a few days now, and I’m by the access port several times a day, and I haven’t heard or seen another one since.

As I said, I hope it was the only one

  • I generally support this practice, and when I lived in New York and had better transport options, I would do this when I had the opportunity. But I live in Florida right now, and don’t have a car. That makes it significantly more difficult for me.

I’ve seen a few cats running around the neighborhood with clipped ears, so I know it’s practiced around here by some people.

  • I impress them with my extensive knowledge of the best local takeout restaurants, then DoorDash that shit!

  • I can do that already.

  • But how did he choose which box to go into?

  • It’s as simple as this: just because you’re gay (or a member of any other minority group for that matter) doesn’t mean that you’re not a shitty person. Just look at Peter Thiel for ffs…

Sure, we should all aspire to be good people and do good by our respective communities and to help others who are “others“, but that doesn’t mean we do.

  • If I hadn’t been out there smoking, I wouldn’t have seen him.

  • There are several neighborhood cats that come by the house. I’m pretty sure I’ve also seen the father running around. It doesn’t surprise me that the mother chose the underside of our house to give birth. I’ve also seen an opossum running in and out of there before. :(

I can only hope that the kitten we discovered was the only one.

  • yeah, the whole conversation about moving the cemetery where they're overlooking the neighborhood was the dad talking to his boss. his boss is complimenting him on being the top house salesman, and how, and a big bonus, he's gonna give him a new house once the new neighborhood extension is completed in a few years.

and the dad's all like, "but where are you gonna build it?" and the boss guy is like, "oh, ya know, the cemetery. we're gonna move it." and the dad is like, "won't that piss people off?" and the boss dude is like, "we've done it before with your neighborhood." and the dad's like, "uhh.... huh..."

that's why you see coffins popping up in the half-dug up pool in the back yard near the end of the film. that's also why, at the end of the movie, when the family runs out of the house, right before it implodes with ghostliness, and the boss guy drives up and comes up to the dad all WTF, the dad grabs the boss and screams at him, "YOU ONLY MOVED THE HEADSTONES! YOU LEFT THE GAVES DIDN'T YOU‽ YOU ONLY MOVED THE HEADSTONES!!!!"

which means the dad is pretty much the only one who figures out why any of that crazy shit actually happened.

edit: ok, time for a rewatch. that movie is sooo good

  • I would also love to have been able to hang out with David Bowie

  • Chilly Down with the Fire Gang from the film Labyrinth

Bonus: the entire thing was choreographed by Cheryl McFadden, a.k.a. Gates McFadden, a.k.a. Dr. Beverly Crusher

    The Dancing Doctor indeed

  • That wasn’t an HOA, it was a real estate development company

  • Precious!
