  • Others might have better reasons, but they've just become too big for the health of the internet.

Enshittification isn't optional for larger companies. They should not be put in a position of power where they could fuck us over.

  • The great thing is that the good internet is all still there.

  • This is true. I only support fellow dumbasses who come by it honestly

  • HELLO

    Jump
  • HAha I love this emoji. I've been using it like this memeable Willem Dafoe image

  • Some of the requests that come into my office now it's like, I know the person barely even knows what they're asking for, but they put it in the shape of a valid request so now I've got to expend energy to educate them on how what they're asking for doesn't make sense.

If they'd just come to me with honest questions and a rough outline of what they wanted, I could've helped them, but because they insist on filtering everything through an LLM I've got to try to communicate through this thick, meaning-eroding medium. It's like trying to talk to someone through a mattress. Whatever happened to having the courage of your convictions. sigh

  • I mean I for one support hiring dumbasses. We're all dumbasses in some area, we've just got to help eachother out, so I help you in an area you're a dumbass about and then you help me bully HR or something.

Let's just not pretend like we aren't dumbasses. Only the boss wins then.

  • Wow you're really showing your lack of ei here, but if you must know I'm very emotional. I jot my emotions in a diary using a special compass of my own devising. I have names for emotional chords you don't even know you're having.

Also just in case you're not playing, my comment was in jest :)

  • Quiet now, that commie is cooking

  • That's an understatement

  • It's like the bear versus man thing... ⏳

  • You have to be emotionally intelligent to several people to show a pattern of emotional intelligence, otherwise you're just gaming.

I use e-transfer if that works —angy.bee@duck.com pls

  • All they had to do was put up a furry character going between two frames, mirrored, and the occasional slow scroll over a Wikipedia page, but somehow they would prefer to play with the keys the billionaires are jingling in our faces while they loot the planet for the last hundred years of capital it's capable of producing.

  • You know I'd totally forgot about this but you're reminding me of my own insane debugging experiences over a decade who

  • The dems suck, aye. Afaik Mamdani is a socdem which isn't radical or anything but I can see why people are excited for a reformist politician rather than a straight up sellout like they're used to.

I'm kind of on the fence about whether a "good" government makes real revolutionary change more or less likely... It's one of them things where you'd like to see ownership move to the workers and the role of the state sort of dissolve while protecting the power vacuum that non government corporations would step into.

Anyway I'm talking above my level of education. This is just vibes speaking now.

  • I used to think he delegated to dead relatives, because I didn't think anyone else would be interested in watching. Literally believed my grandma was watching me for years.

  • This is just one of the things they're trying to take from us

  • Yeah I'm with you. I'm disappointed, but everyone will disappoint you in some way some times. Hell I'm disappointed in myself plenty of the time.

I agree, we try our best, but we've got to focus on the truly existential issues.

  • You don't need animal products to live, but I don't disagree with your point about food. At least it's actually for people.

AI is only for extracting the last bit of marrow from the bones of workers before making them completely obsolete.

  • My complaint is at least before the individual stealing the idea and recombining it was the one getting paid.

Now that's just a SaaS that benefits a handful of overvalued superscalers. They get to sit on their horde of data and charge for access.
