Stranger in A Strange Land was called "the hippy bible" for a reason...

It was written in the 1960s tho, so even the "woke" parts can be pretty problematic. That just means society progresses tho. If 60 year old media doesn't have anything problematic in it, it means society has stalled instead of peogressed

He would spend more than two decades as James David “J.D.” Hamel, and served in Iraq as a US Marine – Corporal James D Hamel. But the situation gnawed at him, particularly after his mother and adoptive father divorced.

Vance paid tribute to his grandmother, a union Democrat, during his acceptance speech after being elected to the US Senate in 2022.

We need a strong enough win in November to oust Jeffries.

Leadership elections were like 2 weeks before DNC elections...

If people had voted against Schumer/Jefferies, and a neoliberal won chair, they would withhold funding from entire states as punishment.

The current chair drained the Victory Fund, and stopped stealing from state parties, which is why people became confident to openly shit talk Schumer/Jefferies.

They don't have a chance at retaining leadership in the next Congress.

Most Americans don't get to vote in any election that has any of them on a ballot.

It focuses on what kind of candidate the party should push. When what's been working is the party staying out of it, and just letting the voters pick the candidate they want in fair primaries.

They've got the 8th highest amount of billionaires world wide of any city.

Per capita I think Jackson Hole Wyoming is the highest, due to multiple homes and cheap state tax. So everyone makes their luxury cabin out their their main residence.

But San Francisco kind of makes as the last place neoliberalsmwouldnhold onto.

And the thing is, if that's as left as they can go, that shouldn't be a problem. Because 99.99999% of the rest of the country isn't obscenely wealthy and legitimately six months away from being a billionaire most of their career if they get lucky on an IPO.

They can get on the bus, they just shouldn't be anywhere near the steering wheel.

The San Francisco Democratic Party voted 17–4 to oppose Proposition 40—with five members abstaining, five members absent, and one member with no endorsement. Nancy Pelosi chose not to endorse the measure. This comes just weeks after the California Democratic Party endorsed the measure in August after a contentious vote that succeeded above the 60% threshold.

People are shocked San Fran still has neoliberals?

That's actually pretty good results for this tiny slice of America.

Why it's different this time, is the DNC is going to keep supporting progressives instead of sabatoging them

Forty out of 47 Senate Democrats voted in favor of one of the resolutions to block a $295 million sale of bulldozers, which the initiative’s author, Senator Bernie Sanders, claimed would be used to demolish homes in the West Bank, Gaza and Lebanon. Fifty-nine senators — mostly Republicans — voted against blocking the sale.

Thirty-six Democrats backed another resolution aimed at blocking a $152 million sale of 1,000-pound bombs to the IDF, which Sanders argued would be used in Gaza and Lebanon. Sixty-three senators voted against blocking the sale.

117th congress passed 2.0%, 118th passed 1.4%, and the 119th is about to end at 0.6%...

In this congress 18,500 Bill introduced, 104 became law. Except for annual budget, almost all of them were very small things no one cares about. Something this big hasn't been able to pass for a very very long time now.

Senators not voting for one bill, doesn't mean they'd vote yes for the opposite. That is an incredibly basic way to think
