  • I set it up years ago when I still had Ubuntu desktop running on an old laptop. Just kept using it even after using and learning kubernetes at work on an enterprise scale. Also the automatic image checks, easy to check metrics, logs, and endpoints. I have 33 containers right now, it's just simple to see them all in one screen.

  • I had no formal training in hosting when I started. What got me started was, dating myself, blockbuster going out of business and getting over 1000 dvds over the course of their downfall and wanting a better way to watch a movie than going thru a big binder. Found Plex eventually, then built a server from an old workstation and a couple hdds. Then docker and automation, that did get me in the door for my current kubernetes job, now I'm starting to get kubernetes setup at home with 3 mini PCs.

  • I use it everyday in the summer and winter months. Cools/heats the car for 10min before turning off again. Also can be used to keep my dog cool if I have to pop into a place real quick.

  • I made sure my kids photos never had genitals in them but I did take a couple bath photos when they were able to sit up on their own. I had a bad childhood so I was always cognizant of harm from pictures so maybe others that never had to think of that just didn't think?

  • Yeah, while I deal with windows at work I was glad they got me a non corporate laptop so I stopped it down to just bare essentials. I do want to try Linux at work but with smart cards and private CAs I'll deal with windows for now.
