  • These are obviously intended to be serving bowls and I can't think of any whole fruit or vegetable that we would be put in a bowl for presentation. These gaps are so large that a grape would fall right through them.

  • I was thinking for presentation you would be slicing things like peaches and nectarines so they would drip. Nobody's serving up whole large stone fruit in a fancy bowl for a meal.

    I'm craving a BLT and some fries but that's not remotely in the budget. Maybe some kind of Pasta e fagioli? I could make it early and eat it cold for dinner.

    For my personal cats, I avoid fish in any form because it can cause health issues. But when I'm trying to trap cats, fish offers an irresistible smell that draws them in and increases the chance of a catch. Relevant study.

  • We were recently gifted a large amount of tuna because someone who traps cats bought tuna as bait but didn't get pop tops. I make sure to space my tuna consumption out so it'll probably take us a year to get through this stash.

    I do not put any limits on my music metal intake. But as a general rule I don't listen to much that came out after The Black album by Metallica. It wasn't just a major downshift in quality for Metallica but metal as a whole degraded after that.

  • I don't add any juice but I have definitely added pickle relish or in this case pickled pepperoncinis.

    We had a debate on whether to use 12 grain or rye bread for this and decided to go to the 12 grain. That browning you see Is not possible with olive oil or butter. Only Mayo can do that.

  • I have a can of pink salmon in the cabinet that eventually I'm going to do something like this with. But I always forget about it.

    In a tuna melt you need the dryness. You can't have any juice soaking through your bread. I go so far as to dry the pepperoncinis after I mince them, pressing them with a paper towel.
