Some people aren't into trans people of their preferred gender, just like some people aren't into fat people of their preferred gender. In general the rules of politeness that one would follow for the latter should go for the former.
Well now I feel kind of silly. That's just it, I think. In that light, it isn't really necessary to be overly explicit. Thank you for responding!
Yeah I was mostly looking for state-of-the-art terminology or phraseology to not brand myself as some kind of asshole at the outset. Maybe the post needs updated that way, I'm not sure.
I appreciate your response, and now controversially, the thing that makes things hard is that "normal" is pretty relative. Is it normal to be intersex or trans as in "is it a comparatively large subset of states people occupy" and that answer is no, but is it "a reasonable position to occupy" and the answer is yes. So it is challenging for defining terms of art in the space without looking or sounding like a giant shitwagon. As it happens, that is a situation I would like to avoid.
In the same way it doesn't make me a difference, but I'm increasingly worried about miscategorizing people in a way that's unintentionally offensive, or inadvertently giving someone really bad advice.
That seems pretty sane to me, but it seems also like "oh you're a trans woman so you're not" which seems also pretty shitty. And that's the whole thing to resolve.
I specifically am thinking for the purpose of like online dating for example. My high school options were not choicey, it was lucky that they were in college. But if I were unlucky where do I go? It seems like apps are mostly orientation based besides Craigslist which... 😬😬😬 So how do you find where people of your "sexual tribe" congregate?
I might be putting old rules on a new problem, but I would like to be useful to the littles in my life if I need to be.
It is quite clear that they are two separate things and that's the point.
If I say I'm a homosexual man, which generally means I'm a man who prefers men, and I go on Grindr looking for men with vaginas, is that a homosexual position? Or is that some variety of a hetero position? Or is it something else?
A man is a man, but now also if I'm a male who prefers individuals who have a masculine presentation but atypical physical traits is there a way to discuss this?
Or does it really mean that when I create a dating profile, a person will show up and we are going to have to have a chat about anatomy at some time in the future?
What is the way that this is discussed where a) it doesn't really matter from a personal identification perspective but b) it absolutely matters from a physical attraction perspective.
A perfect straight perspective? None. But it is useful to identify perspectives generally and that now seems nontrivial. Or is sexuality now undone by gender identity?
I mean, kind of? Usually you're donating to a charity or something to minimize your tax burden or claim a loss.
"Profitable" is kind of a relative term, but if I pay a little bit of nothing for a good stock (for example) and I hold it for a long time, I might have to pay capital gains on like 90 percent of the value of a stock. If I have some more recently purchased stock with a out the same value, what I can do is donate my old stock money that super grew tax free and use it to offset the value of selling a LOT of more recent stock. This puts money in my pocket from the market basically for free.
It is definitely profitable to figure out how to get money from the market that doesn't require you to pay a quarter of it in taxes up front. If the weight is "how much I put in" vs "how much I took out" you can definitely make profitable tax write-offs.
I usually turn around and start walking backwards, peeking quickly over my shoulder and looking increasingly worried because she's chasing ME and she's getting closer!
