  • The only one I've really seen this happen with so far is avgn

  • How and why is your bed absorbing moisture during the day? I get if you're saying sweat from sleeping in it, but otherwise I'm confused.

Personally, I use a very thin, non-fitted sheet as my blanket, so I don't think any of the bed is really more or less impacted than others on having stuff piled on top of it.

  • I do get what you're saying, but most people nowadays just type rather than write.

When I write, I mostly write in print, but I actually seem to have a bid of hybrid cursive going on in there.

  • I've been trying to figure out what to do in my life and this is tentatively on my bucket list. Problem is it's crazy expensive and I don't have use for it afterwards!

How did the process of getting the cert go for you?

  • Yeah it's mostly fine for the most part. Just occasionally it gets to me. People describe it as such an immense pleasure that I wish I could experience something like that at least once in my life. Oh well.

  • Desire? I would say not really. Very occasionally yes and fleeting.

But more it's like missing a sense. Image all of your friends and family talk about how amazing chocolate tastes. But you were born without a sense of taste. Because people talking about the taste of chocolate are everywhere around you and you'll never get to know what it tastes like, it bothers you on occasion. You never crave chocolate because you can't taste anyway, but you'd just like to know what everyone tastes sometimes.

Except replace chocolate with sex/relationships. It's a bit more significant than chocolate because essentially all forms of media prominently feature sex/relationship. It's ubiquitous. And many people's sense of life purpose comes from the outcome of that (children). And man the way people describe what an orgasm is like, it sounds like freaking heroin or something. I'd like to just once be able to experience something that powerful and pleasurable. Most of the time I live with it and am unbothered, but occasionally it leaves me feeling really left out and at some times not even the same species.

  • I feel this. Getting there myself. Part of the problem is that I can't experience sexual pleasure and I have a hard time experiencing sexual attraction. But I really wish I could experience what those endorphins feel like even once! But even doing it myself, it doesn't work that way.

To my knowledge, I don't seem to have any physical abnormalities. I've been to the doc for a checkup before there. Nerves just must not be hooked up right or something.

  • Idk...I've found throughout the years that there are increasingly greater and greater amounts of long-form content available on YouTube to watch. Of late, I've watched some Louis Theroux documentaries, some documentaries on abandoned facilities, and some real A&E and ambulance emergency shows. There is a ton of interesting content on there if you look for it. I guess I just find the number of streaming services to be too staggering to bother with. So I go with free alternatives like YouTube with an ad blocker and things like PlutoTV and tubi.

  • The only time I ever see a YouTube ad is when I watch a family member pull up YouTube on their phone. It looks literally unwatchable that way. There are so many workarounds to this issue that I don't understand how people can tolerate intrusive ads every 2 seconds.

  • Self defense does not make killing any better or worse

I'm sorry, but how the hell can someone be against killing in self defense? If someone breaks into my home at night to kill me, I absolutely would have no hesitation to try to kill them before they kill me.

I don't think I have ever heard someone be anti self defense before.

Edit: Surely I must be misunderstanding.

  • It's hell of a lot easier to commit a mass murder with an assault rifle over a pistol. People carrying assault rifles aren't doing so for "self defense". They do so for intimidation or to have the ability to kill a bunch of people at once. Sure, you can do it with a handgun, but it's not anywhere remotely as quick and simple.

I am not pro gun, but it's a hell of a lot more understandable for me to see a person carrying a handgun or having a shotgun at home for home defense as opposed to a weapon of mass murder.

As a physically small human who lives alone, I do sometimes get concerned for my safety travelling in certain areas. Or if I lived in a rough area, it honestly might be wise for me to keep one at home in the event of a break in. But I'm still never going to be the type to own one. I just find it a lot more reasonable in certain circumstances.

tl;dr - an assault rifle is literally made for killing large quantities of people at once; I'd hardly call that self defense outside of a war scenario

  • I don't like guns, but I don't generally immediately have issues with people who do carry one.

But holy hell I thought you meant a hand gun or something. This is a fucking huge as fuck assault rifle. That's terrifying. I understand some people wanting a hand gun for protection (tho I never will personally), but carrying an assault rifle around is fucking ridiculous and should not be allowed.

  • I guess what my ramble was trying to say is that I didn't even clock it as blackface because it's so "poorly done" that it didn't even come across that way until I read the comment and then stared at it in confusion. I'm not saying that it "doesn't count if AI does it", just that it's a confusing photo.

  • Is that what I'm supposed to be looking at? Does it really count as a racist caricature if it is just some sort of weird uncanny valley image?

I'm guessing you mean blackface. But the person doesn't look at all black or even like blackface. There is just some weird tinting effect happening. It's like if someone described what blackface is to a blind person....but while trying to describe it, they had a mouth full of marshmallows

Sorry for my ramble and I hope this isn't offensive to comment. I'm just confused. Is it really even attempting to be blackface?

  • Idk maybe, but you sound a bit like my coworker. She overthinks shit to death more than anyone else I know. Because the times she doesn't, she thinks this stuff happens, as you say.

And you know what...to some degree it can. But I think the bigger thing is to learn to be ok with the mess. Because you aren't perfect. No one is. More relaxed people seem to be tolerant of a higher degree of "mess" that you are. And they lead much happier lives that way.

I know...easier said than done. And the "mess" can be scary and unpleasant. But learning to let go can really do wonders for mental health.

  • God, j would eat the shit out of whatever the fuck that food is rn. But it's bedtime so I guess I'll just go to sleep. :pp
