The NVR doesnt have to live in the same VLAN if you give it explicit firewall rules to traverse to the tainted camera VLAN for the explicit purpose of fetching the rtsp stream from the cursed cameras. Its how I setup my network. The cameras are islanded, I setup Frigate to be allowed to go in and open that port over TCP. The cameras try to phone home and pull DNS but are ignored, only traffic they're allowed to product is rtsp to Frigate.
Next week is my last week working at Bose, funny to read this. Also, I'm one of the few remaining battery guys. Ear bud battery degradation can happen from charge cycles or time spent at full SoC. For cycles, theyre designed to easily handle hundreds of charge cycles before their capacity degrades below 80% which is the industry standard for 'end of life'. But 80% is hardly end of life. Lithium cells don't like being left at 100% SoC, the high voltage stress damages the chemistry. All that being said, after years of power use you can easily expect at least 80% playtime you had on day one.
The honest answer is in the US all doorbells are powered by simple 24VAC transformers that burn 6–7 watts just being powered up, forever, for decades. This annoyed me plus I wanted a fun bell so I wired up a pi to use a modern, efficient 24VDC power supy to ring the bell and it gets turned on by the pi only when its needed so now my idle wattage is more like 0.25W.
My doorbell is a raspberry pi that uses webhooks to send me messages on my privately hosted chat server and also rings a physical bell built in 1900. Do I win for the most simple high tech doorbell?
I'm in a rush but ive put Ethernet cards in both slots of my optiplex 3080 m.2 slots. The top right slot is vanilla and 4xpcie lanes, full speed. The bottom left is A+e keying and only 1x lane which is enough for 2.5gig Ethernet. This is ultimately what i used. For my prfesene box I added a second card, a 2 port Ethernet card to the top right m.2 slot and made it a four port beast.
Its taken me a long time to accept that a huge portion of the American adults simply do not want responsibility or to make decisions. They want to go through life on autopilot and if they can delegate their autonomy to children, they will. AI is pure magic through, they can delegate without judgment, instead receive affirmation. It makes them feel great and it so much easier than being an accountable adult.
If T-Mobile does this I'm gone. SimpleChoice had free international roaming which we use yearly when we visit family. Everyone on my family plan uses it and It was an amazing feature at the time now they charge per month, per line. Been on T-Mobile for 19 years.
For what its worth, despite missing the punchline of the actual measurement, the guy knows what he is talking about. Taking a dB measurement in C weighting over some integration period is how to do it for this scenario. I doubt his meter is calibrated but its doing a good job.
I put up panels last year, made the cut off for the federal rebate. I filed my taxes the first week of February and I'm still waiting for my return. They asked for a few documents back in may that they already had, no one will give me an answer. Theyre holding my money hostage.
Hello fellow pumpkin head! I too have a fat head and once upon a time had a fantastic local optometrist who informed me that most all Maui Jim plastic temples are thermoplastic. He had a tiny bin full of extremely hot salt, he stuck the temple in, softened the plastic and formed it to my head. He repeated until they were perfect. 15 years later I still use them, somehow havent broken them. Highly recommend finding a great optometrist.
Modern CPU and GPUs are the pinnacle of human creation. Each step, from design to build is resting on the foundation of decades of learnings and millions of hours of highly trained and educated individuals. All of this knowledge and talent is guarded. I don't think you fathom the scale of which you discuss. At best we can play around as aggregated hobbiest and make perhaps a 1980s tech CPU.
My daughter is 7 and no unsupervised internet, at most some YouTube videos. She gets tablet time but its just educational games and videos, mostly Khan Academy and PBS content.
Furthermore my wife is working with all the other moms to build a pact to keep our kids cellphone free as long as possible. Soon as one friend gets one they all want one.
This article doesnt mention this is a 4 year phase out period so this doesn't happen all at once. I work in consumer electronics, some things will get easier, some harder, but generally it will all get more expensive.
