An interview that asks me to execute 3rd party code on my machine is an instant no from me. They can give me a dataset in plain text and ask me to do something with it in a certain language, but running a whole code base is sketch as hell.
I'm not a rust user but it looks like the feature is in their unstable branch https://doc.rust-lang.org/nightly/cargo/reference/unstable.html#min-publish-ag. Also looks like someone made a crate to do that called cargo-cooldown. These supply chain attacks have been more frequent only recently so a lot of ecosystems are still working on implementing this kind of feature.
Is naming things hard? Sometimes absolutely! Should you off load that cognitive load to AI? Only if you want to get worse at writing and maintaining code.
The amount of content on here is less plentiful, so browsing all and blocking the communities you don't like has been how I curated my feed. If a community doesn't exist you can always make one (easier said than done I know).
I get what the author is saying, but like before any ground breaking invention you don't know what you're missing until you have it. If there was some more nuance to their position I would be agreeing even more.
This is just marketing bullshit as OpenAI tries to hype themselves up for their IPO. Anytime an "AI" company says their models are too dangerous or did something like this it's just to make people think the "AI" is way more powerful/intelligent than it actually is.
