  • "No one will ever replace my husband," she told the crowd. "But I do see some similarities of my husband in JD— in Vice President JD Vance. I do. And that's why I am so blessed to be able to introduce him tonight."

Her husband's been dead five minutes and he's married. Gross.

  • Personalization and identification, usually.

  • That's like when my cat started to show an allergic reaction to her food so we switched her to the food her uncle (who also had a food allergy) could eat and she just didn't like the taste as much. I'm sorry, kitty! You don't go bald when you eat this!

I wish we could explain things to them.

  • Conservative women are expected to give up a lot of themselves as human beings, so of course the men have to be worth it, right? You submit to him in every way because he's so good and strong (emotionally and physically) and a natural leader, right? Right?

  • She casually mentioned that she had helped curate a drag event at one point — something he was entirely against. He felt a pit in his stomach.

Nothing against her as a person, he said, but, “We did not go on the third date, after that.”

If she reads this article, she's going to realize she dodged a bullet.

  • Put out the litter while you're around to watch the cat? One of my cats loves of piss on clean litter, which would be convenient for this.

  • Oh! Since I saw the vanity fair article, I found this one where you can see his face, too

  • Here's his new one. From here.

  • I agree that it's waaay too long. I should look into it myself once I'm out of work. If I find more, I'll link you!

  • That's a good idea! Call your local McDonalds and get them to restart the dollar menu. Or, even better: donate money to your foodbanks. They prefer cash instead of pantry items, but I'm sure they'll accept anything you're willing to give!

  • My primary interest is in pressuring large organizations with resources to provide food for people cut off from snap benefits. Using it politically is a means to convince the DNC to put resources towards it, though my assumption is that the central DNC will actually do fuckall and it will be small local organizations that decide it's worth the effort.

  • I see calls for it, but is there a start date and a primer on what it'd entail going around?

  • I'm not sure what you think I'm arguing?

  • Honestly that's the part of this suggestion I'm not sure about, but regardless of whether that part's cool, Dems should be setting up food distribution in places that are going to be the worst hit by this.

  • I wonder if he considers modern art "degenerate."

  • Gotta keep that damn thing from getting away from him

  • I do wonder what his wife thinks of him these days. Does he tell her "no, not you" all the time?

    This article probably is right.

There is no need to perform intellectual gymnastics to understand Vance’s positions. There’s no riddle to solve here. Vance is intelligent and educated and thoughtful; she knows who she married. We do too. She isn’t leaving him, because she doesn’t want to. She isn’t speaking out against his policies, because she’s not interested in doing so.

It's a position I always find confusing, but then I remind myself how difficult patriarchy would be to maintain without willing female participants.

  • Get a cat safe heating pad in there and her opinion might change
