  • As the author said in the website, saying a platform is open source when you haven't even released the source is nothing but wrong. And that is not the only thing he has done it seems.

I personally can't take his apologies seriously after his cocky harassments.

  • Found this out from that subreddit: https://dansup-open-letter.github.io/

That's very interesting. It did change my view of dansup.

edit: just like the comments said, most points seem to be exaggerated and mostly bs upon a closer look.

  • Do not use Yew. It's no longer being maintained. If you want to use a Rust frontend framework, you should check out Leptos. It will feel familiar if you've used SolidJS before, as it was inspired by it.

  • Matrix, SimpleX, XMPP

  • MullvadVPN.

  • No I meant end to end encryption

  • More than Bluesky? Interesting. Did something happen at Instagram/Snapchat for this to happen?

  • Tutanota's emails are quantum resistant only when you are emailing other tutanota users. So practically no benefit really. You're better off buying a cheaper email like Posteo that at least lets you use a goddamn third party client. Then you can use GPG to encrypt your emails or just use something else really, email is not good for discussing confidential stuff.

MullvadVPN is good, keep using it.

  • LibreOffice, rise!

  • The next time, you actually can use the tesseract UI to ban/unban people without needing a comment/post from the user directly from the community settings (or until the redesigned lemmy UI).

  • Why WASM? It allows developers to use something other than JS.

  • ...or just migrate the community to another instance? Like why are we in the fediverse? Have people forgotten that if you don't like a instance, you can just move to another one?

  • Locking this post as it violates rule 5.

  • Why not use SSH keys? Imo they are much easier to manage.

  • I mean, if you really want one, you could change the keyboard manually.

  • System76? They primarily sell Linux computers and also develop Pop!_OS and COSMIC DE.

  • Thanks.

  • Yeah well, it is definitely in alpha stages, those things are to be expected.

  • This is so cool

  • Fediverse @lemmy.world

What do you think about having a custom URI scheme for the fediverse?

  • Fediverse @lemmy.world

What will you draw on the fediverse canvas in 2025?

    canvas.fediverse.events
  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

Is it better to give misinformation or give none at all?
