  • Ubuntu is preparing for the AI PC

I sure hope they fork it. Not that anyone should be using Ubuntu in the first place but they sure do anyway.

  • Clapping back is a great way to never get invited back to The White House. That responsibility doesn't lie with reporters, it lies with Americans.

  • Yes

  • I really wish more people would include short summaries in their posts so I don't have to read 12 paragraphs of bloat on a heavy webpage.

”As customers shop with us more frequently, including on their phones, and use the ‘Your Orders’ page in the Amazon app to get real-time, consolidated order details and delivery status, we’ve simplified several order-related emails to direct customers to our app and website for the latest information on their orders,” spokesperson Maxine Tagay said in an email. “This also reduces customer information shared outside the Amazon app and website to further improve customer privacy.”

In other words: It’s a way to hedge against the DoorDash problem by hiding the meaty information on Amazon’s properties, and to keep customers visiting the retailer directly.

Yet again it's another thing AI is ruining and another way for companies to claw back value for themselves at the expense of their users.

  • Are you trying to gaslight me? I made a parent comment that you replied to. I didn't "come in later" to anything. You did not make 1 reply, you replied to me 6 times.

    Come on, man.

  • It's just a weird thing to say. Like it's clear as day that they haven't. Who does he think he's fooling?

  • I don’t think that should ever be an endorsement

It wasn't. It was an answer to the question that was asked.

  • The agency told bidders it had not identified a way for people without a U.S. bank account to pay what they owe, and said the winning contractor would have to propose a solution.

LOL how about how do you plan to enforce a fine on someone in another country? Are you going to invade them all?

  • “We don’t believe we have to go to Congress. We believe Congress has already given us the authority to do what we’re doing,”

What do you mean "we believe"? They either did or they didn't. And surely doing so involves some sort of formal process that you could point to?

  • The claim "increased safety" is rather ironic in light of the post you're commenting on.

The post I commented on is a single anecdote where no one was even remotely hurt. These things collectively have millions of miles on them. If you want counter evidence I can show you one of a billion anecdotes of terrible drivers.

"Decreased cost" will only be true as long as they still have to compete with human drivers.

I meant to the provider, not the end user.

  • President Donald Trump told a story about South Korea on Monday. Every single part of it is false.

Yeah, I mean, if he says it, it's probably a lie.

  • I would argue the Vandal is the guy who gave a no-bid contract to one of his cronies who, predictably, botched it horribly.

  • I couldn't give the faintest fuck about the reflecting pool

Yeah I'm pretty sure no one cares about the pool itself. It's just a shining example of the larger problem of corruption in The White House.

  • Its been done a couple dozen times, always compared on a per-mile basis.

  • Uber had a whole team devoted to avoiding legal scrutiny.

Pretty sure every company has a legal team...

  • Decreased costs and increased safety.

  • Right!?

  • They are not intimate nor buddy-buddy with each other.

The word used was not "intimate" nor "buddy buddy", it was "independent".

    I'm speaking generally

Thenstop replying to me to argue about things I didn't say?

  • I'm sorry if the facts hurt your feelings
