You may subscribe to a 'all human beings are the same' globalism, but very very few people do. And most of those people who do are educated in a certain way. And even those who do believe that... their actions are often in contradiction to those beliefs.
I live in a very progressive city full of 'global citizens'. Most of them lose their shit at having to see homeless people and open talk about just killing them because they are gross to look at. They feel similar about non-white, non-educated, and immigrant populations. Why? Because those people aren't part of their 'tribe'. They are happy to tell me this because I'm part of their tribe and they can 'be honest' with me.
A lot of people understand their public image is different than their private beliefs. And their public image may be 'everyone is humanl' their private belief is often, only people who look, talk, and have as much money as they do are really 'human'. Everyone else is a subhuman until they have attained the same level of status.
I don't have a girlfriend because I keep meeting women who want 1950s style marriages where I am their sole provider. And I'm not interested in that. I want an equal partner.
I don’t think you understood what I meant. Most movies wrap up all the plotlines at the end. 2001 just leaves the viewer wondering what happens next. You see the star child, then the movie just ends. There’s also no explanation about the people that built the monoliths and transformed Bowman.
That's the point of the movie. It's not suppose to answer questions.
You simple want it to be a totally different movie than it is. You want it to be a nice convenient package that doesn't make you question anything or think.
Other people actually enjoy thinking about things. They don't want answers and they don't care about plotlines.

Allowing the enemy to be the only group who is armed and trained is not very bright position your friends are taking. A lot of leftist are armed because we know that all these threats that the right keeps making towards us are serious
they don't care about history, facts, or reality. just crude stereotypes that anyone who has a gun must be a trump supporter and how their anti-gun ignorance makes them morally superior. they have imaginary bullshit lines in their head. like if i bought a truck it would be the same 'betrayal' to them.
it's nonsense to you. It's my lived experience of attending multiple protests. being told to go fuck myself for just being there. because i look like 'the enemy'. whatever that means.
so i stopped protesting at all, because it's not worth it to be verbally assaulted and physically threatened by your so called 'allies'.
