As someone that makes around $25, that's still not even that much money. It definitely feels like a good minimum wage as I can afford my bills and food relatively easily (although it is getting harder as prices go up) but it's still not really enough to make my life that much more comfortable than it was 5 years ago.
The only complaint I have is that I needed to work for 10 years in order to reach a wage of what would now be considered minimum wage. It's always seemed like every increase in wages I have ever gotten has been a year or two too late conpared to how expensive everything is. When I was making $14 an hour the average house prices in my area were $100,000 to $300,000. Now that I'm making almost twice as much and could afford a house 8 years ago, house prices in my area average around $400,000 to $800,000 and sometimes over $1,000,000. It's like I've been playing catch up since the day I was born. In my opinion, I should be making $30+ an hour.
When I was a CAD tech for that same land surveying company I absolutely refused to send anything out unless someone else had checked it. But there's a huge difference between doing a good job at work and having a baby sitter while on the job. If anything, I'd say having someone constantly monitoring me makes me do a worse job because it's so much more stressful.
I've worked many different kinds of jobs in my life. I've worked in restaurants, retail, fast food, construction, and land surveying. These days I have an office job, and lemme tell you, I'd take any of those other jobs again if my boss told me he was going to monitor my mouse movements and keystrokes.

This isn't sustainable. Almost all of our infrastructure runs on computers and eventually it will reach a point where you have a computer in charge of vital infrastructure that won't be able to buy replacement part and it'll just fail.
Easier said than done. I used to smoke a pack a day for 10 years and I've tried to quit entirely many times in the past. I've tried every method there is out there and it never sticks. If anything, vaping has helped me cut down on my nicotine input significantly because sometimes I don't even use it for half the day and having it next to me is enough to get rid of cravings.

Well, they did have the pods more widely available back when I started vaping to quit smoking. Unfortunately, big tobacco companies lobbied to get all the pod flavors banned and now the only ones you can get at gas stations are menthol and tobacco flavor which both taste awful. Disposable vapes filled the market gap that was created and now we have disposable vapes with lithium batteries plaguing the places cigarette butts used to be.
Disposable vapes are genuinely evil. With the lithium inside the batteries they are significantly more dangerous than throwing a cigarette out your car window. They have chips inside them with metals that can be recycled and they are made of a hard plastic that'll be around for thousands if years. Whenever I mention this to people I know they agree with me that it's evil but continue to use disposable vapes because it's more convenient. I keep telling my roommates that it's massively cheaper to get a refillable one and they always agree but never buy one. Every time I go to the vape shop to get juice and coils I drop off a literal tub of disposable vapes from my roommates.
I'm so tired of people being complacent in this and I'm tired of making this rant. People will get nervous about batteries when they see a phone explode in someone's pocket but they'll throw that shit on the ground or in the trash without a second thought. Just go back to smoking if you wanna throw shit on the ground. It's better for the environment and public safety that way anyway.
Conservatives were always like this in one way or another, Trump just amplified the worst parts while silencing the more moderate points of view. For example, my father has been a conservative his entire life yet used to be a really chill dude. When I was a kid I remember him voting for gay marriage for the state we lived in because my uncle is gay and he genuinely wanted it for him. My dad was never really that religious and never really had an issue LGBTQ+ people. Now he goes around saying that sexuality is a choice when he never had this opinion before and openly hates my younger sister because she's transgender.
In Trump's conservativism you are not allowed to have a nuanced opinion on anything anymore. You can't be pro choice and against same sex marriage at the same time anymore. You have to be against them both or you are not welcome. Or even worse, a terrorist. The pressure doesn't come from Trump directly, it comes from your neighbors, coworkers, and family. It's the fear of being hated in your own home that pushes people further into it. At first it's for self preservation to protect yourself or your family. But eventually the only people left in your social circles are those that hated you for disagreeing with you and will ostracize you for not believing in Trump 100%.
Even good people can be evil when they are led to believe that evil deeds are the right thing to do.
