  • The way I see it, AI is like with any other things, such as botox and plastic surgery and dating apps. People vilified botox and plastic surgeries as unnatural and anyone who had them are losers. People who used dating apps were seen as losers. Now, those are normalised and became part of the furniture, metaphorically.

Love it or hate it, AI will became part of human lives, like furnitures. Younger generations will use them and accept them. Older folks like us will think youths are weird and losers, while the latter thinks the former are fossils who can't keep up with the times.

I am personally not against or pro-AI, it is useful to certain things, but i recognise that it is monopolised by only few who don't have the best interests for the many. In any case, AI will be used en masse eventually as more and more people will use it, especially by younger generations. In that sense, those who refused to use AI in any way will be left behind by the times. But whether AI will have ultimate positive or negative impact on human society, only time will tell.

  • Tankies and far right in our current settings.

  • Username checks out

  • He'll say anything to make people forget that he's in the Epstein files.

  • The Nazi Americans are literally fucking children, and actual children are more well behaved! The deliberate rejection of expertise by fascists manifests in how they behave in so far as acting more in emotions. That's why fascism eventually do collapse but they hurt everybody before they are brought down.

  • Advocating for remigration is unquestionably far right, which the founder has done. Unless you yourself agree with it...

  • Cruelty is the point for Trump and many Republicans. And even if many GOP had initially thought they could control Trump, they are sorely mistaken. They played fire and got burned. FAFO. People never learned from history when they thought an imbecilic fascist figure could be "controlled" by conservatives, from Hitler to Mussolini.

  • There was a VR experiment in which the participants were subjected to racial abuse. They became more compassionate and empathetic afterwards. The expression "put yourself in someone else's shoes" really is true.

  • Don't be evil Be a cuck

  • Well I'm not entirely surprised. Rural areas just tend to lean right. Even in a wider region that is more liberal like California and New York, their rural parts are more right leaning.

  • So this is what capitalists mean by "innovation".

  • And the government recently commissioned tech executives that had zero military experience.

    Enclave?

  • The media always claim "new" immune based drug therapy which uses the body's immune system to fight cancer, even though the technology has been around since the 1970s. And people often think cancer is one disease even though there are many types. So, these immune based drug therapy only target one type of cancer.

  • Well yeah, the centrist and liberals love of money will be their own undoing. Who voted the Enabling Act to allow Hitler to become the dictator? It was the centrist liberals and conservatives. Only the left were against the Enabling act.

  • It's Andy Burnham.

But seriously, I'm still young but now feels old that nobody knows him since that you asked. And I am not even British!

  • Younger gens are on Instagram. I think Zuckerburg is clever to have bought various social media platform as backup in case Facebook dies. He also changed the name of the company to Meta to remove the more direct association with Facebook should the platform die.

  • In the community page of my investment platform, the older folks who invested in Diageo, the parent company of Guiness, are genuinely shocked and finally convinced that younger generations are drinking less because Diageo is struggling financially.

Nevermind the health reasons why drinking alcohol is bad, it just really have become expensive to go out, let alone go drinking alcohol!

  • One of my communities from Reddit tried to build momentum here but there just isn't enough participation on Lemmy. So they went back to Reddit. I don't know how they have been doing since.

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

Non-Americans, how and what do the news and social media in your country portray the US?

  • memes @lemmy.world

Don't raise taxes on them because innovation

    Reality can be disappointing

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

Are kintsugi kits all the same, or are some brands better than others?
