  • It's a common trope to depict making a wish but causing unintended and dark consequences. It's allegory to be careful what you wish for. I suppose you could call this "anti-wish".

  • Turn off history when signed in maybe? Turning it off seems to work for me. Most of my recommendations on the side when signed in are from channels I have already subscribed to, while I typically avoid clicking on channels and videos that have clickbait-y thumbnails or titles.

  • Does the stock market count as gambling? 😂

Michael Burry invested more on gambling stocks and now I can see why.

  • Seems a bit of oversimplification. Even in the districts of "The Squad" elected Trump. AOC asked her constituents why they elected Trump, a lot of it is more like protest votes on the neoliberal Democrats and failure to address the cost of living crisis. At the very least, Americans are finally waking up to take charge by primarying neoliberals away, rather than simply following the silly thought terminating cliché that is "vote blue no matter who."

  • Reminds me of South Park videogame addressing this trope.

  • I've always been wondering as to why the right have so many pedophiles is because since liberals support LGBTQ+, the conservatives must have conflated LGBTQ+ with pedophilia.

Right: Why are liberals supporting these LGBTQ pedos?

Also the right: If libs support them, then that must mean....

It explains a lot as to why the right elect so many child abusers and turn a blind eye to Trump. They must have thought supporting LGBT rights is tacit support for child abuse, as well as their fixation on pedophiles is innate projection 😂

  • If Trump calling veterans "losers" didn't stop people from supporting him, what what would be different this time around?

  • Also those who rant about welfare cheats but never talks about billionaire and corporate tax cuts and subsidies and wage theft being the bigger cheats of them all.

  • The Nazis weren't stopped until the allies stopped them.

Yeah, why do you think I advocated for an armed resistance? Because if it has to come to violence-- and I say, if--then I am unapologetically accelerationist with respect to this. It's in human nature to "get out it of your system". You can't vote away fascism and they are not going away that easily (it will take a miracle for that to happen). Fascism did not come from a vaccum, it came from the pent up anger and that Pandora's box has been opened.

Arendt's view of Zionism doesn't matter to this, it's her research and observation on the undertaking of the Holocaust that would make someone think "yeah, the Nazis wasted so much resources killing people who could have otherwise helped them if the Nazis actually think". Because that's what Nazis are, they don't think. Germany actually was on a brink of another economic collapse but Hitler invaded Poland to use the plunder to stave off that impending collapse. Heck, they did not even have enough resources to actually wage a war and Hitler was shock that the Allies declared war on them. Many Nazi officials after the war admitted that had the French pressed on with their offensive in Saar in 1939, the war could have ended quickly and saved millions. Because Germany actually only had enough resources to last them weeks at the start of the war.

This kind of accelerationist thinking is exactly how we got here

No, it's not. It's precisely the "moderates" love of money and the elitist dismissal of the socioeconomic anxiety of the working class that led to where we are. The American political establishment had one chance to fix the underlying issue that led to Trump in the first place. And yet, the neoliberals did the exact same errors that led to Trump yet again for the second time.

  • You really think the trans-hate is only going to affect people who are trans?

Yeah, that's why I said let the fascists fo whatever the fuck they want. That's what the Nazis did-- hurt everyone but in the process actually led to their own demise. Maybe I am anchoring myself too much to the analysis of Hanna Arendt but reading her book on the banality of evil, the Nazis are actually inefficient. They either dismissed or killed so many people, many of whom have talents that could have been utilised otherwise. Not utilising talent is a waste and that led to Nazis own downfall.

Moreover, fascism is all about emotions (hence the rejection of reason and the anti-expertism). They have a latent angst that want to let out. We tell people to "get it out the system" so similarly we'll let the fascists get it out their system. People could die sure, but we have to make sure more fascists die than the anti-fascists. It sounds grim and cynical but the Pandora's box is open and it's naive to think that there won't a potential armed conflict. This is what the American founding fathers have put contingencies for with the second amendment.

  • India is beating UK at cricket.

  • Part of me wants to let the fascists do whatever the fuck because whatever they want to do is clearly a waste of time and resources persecuting a tiny minority of population that have little consequences in the lives of the fascists to begin with. Wasting time and resources means they will eventually and quickly run out of those and therefore lose power. They run on emotions rather than with reason. But on the one hand, a lot of innocent will get hurt in the process.

  • Sociopaths don't often get depression, I think.

    Yes because they lack empathy.

  • I don't see any comment yet about Overlord so I will mention Overlord. It's a movie that flew under the radar and is a cult classic for a good reason. Do not read anything about the movie before watching it so that you won't get any clues about the twists and turns. Unless you know quite a bit of WWII history then you could kinda see where the twist would go. But the twists themselves have their own twist!

  • Band of Brothers is even better than Saving Private Ryan because a dramatised real life experience is better than a fictionalised story at the backdrop of a real event. I think Band of Brothers improved upon on where Saving Private Ryan lacked.

  • There are moments of plot armour and plot holes in the movie which are hard to ignore but i still throughly enjoyed the film. I definitely recommend the film.

  • At first, the history nerd in me went "What? This is historically inaccurate!" But upon repeat multiples viewings, because my country's national TV constantly re-runs Kelly's Heroes, I now find it as one of the most fun war movies I have ever watched!

  • Using the ai to help find the answers...

I think this is one of many reasons why search engines became so bad so that using AI could be promoted instead. I have turned to using AI for searching because of it.
