  • The kid that brings me my bacon sandwich when I’m hungover is about the height of a small bin, but he’s really lovely and is definitely learning more about the world than he would be sitting in his room.

And that’s the most important thing. Within reason, kids doing part-time jobs will teach them about the world. The grimmer the work they do, the more incentivised they’ll feel to work hard at school so they can avoid a rubbish job.

"Sitting in your room and developing a sense of self and learning to not require permanent social interaction is horrible. Instead, kids should suffer and see how soul-crushing capitalism is, so that they can be terrified into fitting in the mold and will accept settling for shit pays and jobs because they are already used to those"

  • "It's quite good" "you cannot trust it"

What is your definition of good?

    What a recipe for disaster...

  • And if the burgers are made by people who just grab random items to try to make it look like a burger, whether or not it is edible, no one would.

AI code is unreliable, unsafe, and worst of all, has no basis of even basic intelligence. I'd trust more code produced by a monkey than by an AI. Trusting AI code is like trusting a very realistic drawing of a tunnel and running into it while knowing that it's a drawing, because "it looks like a real tunnel so it must work like one". AI code is not code, it's keywords scrambled together to look like code.

  • Code is not something that you consume, it is something that you build.

You want a house made of cardboard because it's affordable? Sure, just don't start pretending like it's an actual house, and don't try to rent, sell, or lend it to anyone.

  • More like a search engine on LSD.

AI results are always shit when trying to find anything not completely obvious. You end up more often than not with an hallucinated reality that has absolutely no value.

  • I mean you're basically describing star trek. It's not like you can't write stories like that.

  • Or you know, don't let cats outside

  • "The cult of understandable things"

    Yeah ok bro, sure.

Who doesn't like a gigantic shitty code that "just works" after all?

  • Yeah and totally not the beginning with the romanticised rape scenes of a kid.

  • AIs are effectively destroying the word, causing huge social and environmental issues.

They might not have the same individual impact, but it is unequivocally and hugely immoral.

  • AI "programming" is not just something that people hate.

It's something that is wrong on a technical, moral, ecological and social scope.

It's like saying that you don't want racists posts to be banned because "people always complain about something, some don't like vegetables and some don't like racism"

  • It is so much better when the abuse is face to face, isn't it?

  • Macaron has a worse effect than LePen.

He got elected by pretending to be center-left. Even now, people consider that he's a moderate right. He hires full-on far right extremists that lead a party of nazis, and passes them as moderate. He plays the card of the enlightened centrist to make it seem like the far right is a better alternative than the moderate left.

He is doing something that Le Pen couldn't ever do: make the far right look like a reasonable, moderate party, while completely discrediting the left in its entirety.

Macron is paving the way for something much worse than Trump.

  • The pope liberally admitted that there is a problem with priests and that they are actively trying to protect and hide them from being arrested.

What the fuck are you talking about? If you like sects just go be part of them but don't try to pretend that they're fine.

  • I guess I'm the only one thinking that it's fucking disturbing.

  • The problem being that everyone uses it to say "dumb people reproduce more and that's the problem with humanity", which I'm sure the nazis would like but that I struggle seeing as an acceptable opinion.
