  • Genes are a gigantic part of it. I know people who cannot lost weight while being active and at less than 800kcal per day, and others who can sit all day long and eat ~3000-5000kcal and not gain anything.

Overeating can cause weight gain, but there's a lot of people who overeat without gaining weight, and others who eat little and still are overweight.

People are being brainwashed with crap like "calories in, calories out" or "exercise more" but that's just bullshit. It pushes the idea that too much weight comes from a personality flaw and not health issues, but yet any actual (and by that, I mean proper) doctor will quickly search for medical reasons for weight gain because there's a million of them. And a billion that are not known.

Telling people to have healthy habits is good. Telling overweight people, specifically, that they need to improve their habits is discriminatory and serves no purpose other than to dismiss health issues that push weight gain.

Fatphobia stems from a centuries-old view of overweight people as the "evil rich lazy politicians". Now, the rich ones are the most skinny, muscular ones, because it's actually hard to be reliably "healthy" (I do not count those as actually healthy, but well) without a shitton of money. As a result, people with weight issues are generally not rich and whatnot. We're not in the middle ages anymore and maybe it would be time to adapt the views on weight to the current reality of science and society.

  • The whole show is garbage so I guess they just forgot to open the lid of the can

  • Obesity is not exactly something fun.

Of is this another piece of shit propagating the idea that obesity comes from laziness and eating too much, even though it's been known to be bullshit for a very long time?

  • Did you make an account just to say this?

What, your bot has been banned and you're salty about it?

  • You can say that murder is bad. You can also say that it is necessary.

Allowing murder to be good is allowing opinions to shift reality, and this is how people supporting Trump can think that murder is generally wrong, but murdering trans or black people or leftists is acceptable. Once you start making exceptions based on opinions, everything unfolds.

  • A comic doesn't show individuals, it shows a vision of the world. If I draw 1000 nice soldiers, it's not a 1000 individuals, I'm pushing the vibe that soldiers are nice.

But the nice ones are the exception, so if you specifically show nice ones (is it possi le to be nice while killing people?), it is a choice to represent reality as such.

Things like that convey a message, and let's face it, I doubt that the author of this comic is anti-military.

  • If you write code without understanding what you're doing, to the point where an AI is achieving better results, you should question your choices.

  • You can have products that look the same (same manufacturing process for the most parts) but that have missing components or similar, as a way to reduce the price.

I read some time ago about how a lot of the products imported from aliexpress-like sources tend to not follow EU safety norms, which is probably less likely through amazon if the seller is located in Europe, even if the product looks the same as another on aliexpress.

For non-electronic stuff it's probably different, but with electronics no one is going to notice a missing component.

  • And let's not talk about contraceptive pills for men, that have been heavily fought against because one of the listed side effects are impotency.

Instead, let's push hormones on a sex that relies on them heavily to function properly, and hope that nothing will break.

  • Ah yes, the overflowing empathy of the military.

  • The guy literally said that he didn't want to bother learning python and that it's why he used this crap.

If that's not intellectual laziness I don't know what is.

  • Because anyone can fall for stupid shit.

Tldr, he's fine with it because he was lazy

  • I don't know, the actress also supports rapists and pedos so...

  • You're literally trying to pretend that it's racist to criticise a cartoon of the racist stereotype of a "terrorist" which is a dark skinned Muslim.

On top of that, the joke (that isn't really a joke and doesn't really work anyway) could have worked with a million situations that wouldn't imply terrorists.

The real core of the joke here is "look at these stupid arabs, they just explode themselves like dumb fucks, lol". That's the intention of the comic, that's what it tries to convey, and I don't know if you're actually not seeing the problem, or deluding yourself because you laughed at the comic and refused to admit that you're wrong, but you are doing the typical thing that a racist would do. So maybe think about what you're defending, before defending it.
