There's a great book about this: How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. It's a bit dated in some aspects, but the underlying advice is solid.

Some microscopic animals don't have anuses, but that's because they have one dual purpose orifice that handles food in both directions.
It's not an issue, and pretty easily as it's not a major weight bearing structure. It mostly functions as an attachment point for various muscles and as A part of the articulation of the ankle joint. Part of it is commonly harvested for use as a bone graft.
The most commonly harvested area starts right at the top of where the missing section begins, so I suspect this post may be bullshit.
I'm sadly allergic to alliums. Onions, garlic, shallots: you name it, it wrecks my guts. The massive downside, beyond how they're in everything, is my partner stopped eating them too and couldn't stand them except in small amounts. They lost their tolerance for the flavor, so anything with a normal amount of onions tasted overpowering. I experience the same, so at least I immediately know if something has alliums in it.
Don't forget zipper merging. I lived in an area where hundreds of hours spent commuting allowed me to observe the inability to merge was the primary driver of freeway congestion.
I think my point didn't come across. I wasn't making a case that they're not evil, but instead that it's not pointless evil.
There are a lot of "they're fighting regulation just to hurt and kill people" type comments. That's not true as there's no gain in doing so. These types of politicians exist to maximize the gain of their corporate donors, so they'd be wasting time and irritating their handlers.
They're fighting heat regulations to save their donors a ton of money, and I outline why, how, and how the current system benefits them. They're evil, or more specifically heartless sociopaths, because they fight regulation despite knowing this will lead to easily prevented injuries and deaths.
There are many outrage responses here, e.g., because they're evil. The outrage is understandable, but simply ascribing this to evil isn't completely accurate or helpful beyond a little catharsis. There's logic to their actions, and they're making these choices because their donors value profit over the safety and quality of life of their employees. That's the evil. Let me explain the logic since it's one of my areas of expertise.
Tl;dr: complying with reasonable regulations would be more expensive, and that expense will increase as climate change accelerates. Public knowledge of workplace heat safety is generally poor, humans are extremely heat adaptable, and regulations are vague, allowing for significant employer abuse.

Federal OSHA regulations don't cover heat. Full stop. While OSHA has released guidance for working in high temperature conditions, it's entirely optional and unenforceable as no heat specific regulation exists. All enforcement falls under the General Duty Clause, which calls for employers to make a good-faith effort to provide a workplace free from recognized hazards that may cause death or serious injury. This vagueness is intended and actually beneficial as it acts as a catch-all for unregulated edge cases, but falls flat for more complex, consistent issues... like heat. This would be fine in a functional, rational government as the pertinent regulations would simply be added, but look where we're at. 2026. Yeah.
"Heat" is ComplexIt often comes as a surprise to the sedantary American public, but humans handle working at high temperatures exceptionally well - more about that later. That same public is quite bad at understanding what constitutes "too hot" as the reality is complex. The best indicator is the wet-bulb globe temperature (WBGT), which accounts for air temperature, humidity, sun angle, cloud cover, air pressure, and wind, and can be adjusted for clothing/PPE type. Based on the intensity of work and environmental conditions, a crew could safely work at 110°F or more in one location but cap out at 75°F or less in another.
Humans are Great with HeatHumans are amongst the most heat adaptable animals on the planet. Reasonably physically fit people with appropriate clothing and PPE, unlimited cool water, a shaded or air conditioned rest area, two weeks of progressive acclimation, and sufficient rest breaks can perform 8-10 hour shifts doing even heavy physical labor in hot temperatures with a large safety margin of error. With the right PPE and controls (huge fuck off fans or, God forbid, AC), they can even be reasonably comfortable.
Companies Maximize Profit Based on Human Adaptability and Regulatory InsufficiencyIdeal safety regulations take into account the condition of the average worker, build in a significant margin of error, and plainly describe requirements. Employers would be held to a consistent standard based on metrics like WBGT, and as average WBGT increases, so would their expenses. Based on my industry experience, many employers are ignorant of industry best practices while others simply ignore them, so the cost to meet and maintain regulatory standards would be significant, particularly as the frequency of worker downtime should increase in conjunction with temperature - the thing that keeps going up every year.
In our current, barren regulatory landscape, some employers avoid expense by employee self-selection, where those unable to handle the literal heat quit, and relying on plausible deniability and pleading ignorance in the event of an incident. OSHA fines have historically been fairly low, infrequent due to the lack of clear, specific regulation, and are increasingly less common as OSHA continues to lose funding and staffing over time despite a growing workforce. The math usually works in the employer's favor: those prone to injury tend to quit, those who remain can typically be pushed without injury beyond the conditions regulations would enforce, and the costs of heat-related illness and possible fines are often much less than a comprehensive, effective, and humane heat mitigation program.

Figs. Straight figs. They're delicious, they sell for a decent price because finding ripe figs at the supermarket is practically impossible, and they're easily propagated by cuttings, which sell for a decent amount of money.

Next is corn, but not sweet corn. Field corn , what's used to make corn flour, masa, grits, etc. there are many varieties, like Blue corn, purple corn, and red corn, all of which are healthy and taste fantastic. You can use purple corn to make chicha morada, a Peruvian drink. Just keep in mind the kernels are seeds and therefore representative of the two parent plants. If you plant different types together, like blue and red, and they cross pollinate, the resultant corn kernels will be a variety of blue, red, and hybrid blue/red.

As uneducated as many people are now, they're practically savants compared to your average person just 200 years ago.
Can confirm. I've spent several hours the last few weeks teaching a friend's 24 year old daughter basic computer literacy on a W11 system. None of her friend group could help because they know just as little. When we started, she didn't know how to shut down or reset the system.
I can't support this comment enough. My last job was chemical and biological safety oversight but had a lot of overlap with regular safety people. It takes no extra time to ensure a circuit is properly locked and tagged out because anyone working on that circuit should already have their own lock on it, using a gang lock if there are multiple people.
Then you still prove test prove. For those not in the biz, this means to test your sensing equipment on a known live circuit, test the circuit being worked on, then retest the tester as before because breakers get mislabeled and meters break all the time.
On that note, there's the time an energized circuit almost killed my sister-in-law. She said she understood 120v wiring, so was changing out a light fixture. She asked me for some help with getting it mounted, so I asked her if the breaker was off, and she assured me it was. As I was working on it, it let out a loud pop, slightly zapped me, and blew the breaker.
I'm normally a very nice, chill person, but I was fucking livid. I asked her to show me the breaker she turned off and she pointed to the fucking wall switch. Someone had switched it on, likely out of habit. I inspected the wiring and found she used a cracked wire nut and overtightened it until the hot wire protruded well past the end. I wasn't grounded but I was holding the fixture... with my left hand. I could have had a heart attack if I had been grounded
It's a boomer joke, but I was what almost killed her. I had never been so angry with someone before. We still love her, but we don't let her work on anything with stored energy anymore.
I worked at three call centers over two years. It was the longest two years of my life and it took years to recover. I was once written up for "lying to a customer" because I confirmed something I knew personally to be true but my employer hadn't included in our scripts. It's like being in a cult.

The bone isn't broken as if it was cracked in half and the jagged shards protrude from the skin. The tips of the toe bones are sharp points, held in place inside by a tiny "claw rest"' bone at the end. The frog flexes a muscle, the bone breaks free from the bony rest, and the sharp tips protrude through the toe pads.

Dude, it's the opposite problem. Where do you think the sunlight goes when it hits a solar panel? It sucks it all up! If we set up too many solar panels, they're going to use up all the sunshine and cool the globe until we have another ice age. Big brother petroleum has been saving us!
